“Go for Saturday Market”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

A very nice public park just off the King Street shopping that you can go to and relax, sit, and enjoy a cup of coffee over a book. Or go for Saturday market - there are lots of food and craft vendors as well as a good variety of produce. There is so much to do in this area, park the car and go all around!

“A Nice Public Park”
Reviewed 28 October 2013

I particularly like going here on Saturdays when the farmers market is occurring. Not only fresh produce, but several food vendors, and a lot of local artisans have set up shop. Plenty to do within walking distance whether it be shopping on King Street or hitting several historic sites in the area. If going for the farmers market then I suggest going between 10-12. Most vendors are starting to pack up by the early afternoon.

“Great Farmers Market - Do go!”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

The market has lots of local craftsman, food vendors, flowers and fish/veggie tents. You can buy local made honey, furniture, jewelry and outfits for your dog. The vegetable vendors had great produce and a large variety to pick from. If you happen to be there on a Saturday, I would highly suggest you spend a little time in this market. Note-there is a Starbucks right across the street if you need a little caffeine, but I also saw a vendor at the market selling tea.

“Fabulous Green Area”
Reviewed 23 September 2013

It’s an area that the locals will sun or take a stroll. You may be able to even jump into a game of Freeze be. The park is located near the St Francis, a historical landmark in itself. Charleston prides itself on their open parks, designed for families and even their pets. Marion Square is no different.
The square also serves as the Farmer’s Market on Saturdays and hosts many art/craft markets throughout the year.
During the Holidays, its well lit up and serves as a reminder of how pretty the holiday season truly is.

“VERY CROWDED FARMERS MARKET”
Reviewed 21 September 2013

We attended the Saturday Farmers Market, They have a nice mix of produce, crafts, art and commercial products. Most of the merchants are friendly folks that love to tell you about their wares.

There was one woman that wove sweetgrass baskets. She had an excellent product and was full of knowledge and skill. Nice to see an old art form still being practiced and shared.

There a lot of people at the event with large dogs and small children. Both the dogs and children create hazards to the crowd trying to pass through the narrow isles. Be careful!!
