Great to see in such a beautiful setting, many historic graves of war heroes, a great place to stroll and ponder what has gone before.

“History ends here”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Beautiful cemetery. Lots of civil war soldiers are berried here. This place is isolated from the encroaching city and pretty much has remained the same. Interesting to read the mailers.

“The resting place of CSS Hunley crews”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

I am rating this very good but of course it depends on people's personal preferences.
if you ARE a Civil War buff - this one is definitely for you
As any other Southern cemetery - this one is full of various graves of Confederate Soldiers. however, the PINNACLE here is the burial place of ALL crews of the famous CSS Hunley, including Horace L. Hunley himself (went down with crew # 2)
The Crew # 3 is the one that was still inside the sub when it was raised roughly 10 years ago after completing the 1st successful submarine military mission in the world.
a nice place to pay your Respects and to contemplate on History

“Walking History!”
Reviewed 2 May 2014

Although some of the tombs are in disrepair (which makes it even more interesting) this is a lovely place to see some of Charleston's history. The grounds are very cool, the tombstones are great to read, the Hunley memorial gives you pause as to why three times men were sent down and three times the different crews came to rest in Magnolia......it is one of the places in Charleston you should go see and wander, it will give you a sense of the history of the city!

“Hunley crew buried here”
Reviewed 27 April 2014

My husband wanted to see this place. The three crews of the Confederate submarine Hunley are buried here. There is also a very ancient and large tree that is here, which is really neat to see.
