My husband and I have eaten here twice and we had a great experience both times! We started with the fried pickle spears which were great. I had the fish and chips both times and is is so good, not too greasy, very flavorful, and good tarter sauce. The coleslaw is excellent. My husband had fried shrimp and he really enjoyed it. Fun atmosphere with dollar bills stapled on every surface available! Will always try to come back here when we are in Charleston!

Think dark & cool with all the right beers on tap. Not a very big place - so go early. Food looked good- we didn’t eat. Bartenders were all nice & attentive.

I love the Griffin. A Citadel graduate pointed us towards this bar. He frequented it while at the Citadel. He didn't tell me about the money wallpaper. It's an Irish pub that started a tradition back in 1993 when new owners took over. The original bar has actually been around for over a century. The new ownership put their first dollar bill on the wall like every new bar and restaurant does. Workers added a few more as the story goes. Eventually, the patrons started tacking up bills. 25 years later and there is not a spot without dollar bills. The bills have started stacking on top of one another. The oldest bills are yellow. They mark the period when smoking was allowed. You can find the original yellow bills that started it all to the right of the bar with plastic placed over them.

The money on the wall is worth a visit to see. The beer selection, however, is awesome. They have a great collection of craft beers. We sat at the bar, so it was a great interaction with the bartender talking about the different options.

Definitely put this on your list! Don't miss it.

Their highly touted fish and chips were everything they said they were. The fish was flakey thick and delicious. Atmosphere was a little dirty but it's intentional.

Very close to waterfront park.

Our party of two had the chicken philly steak sandwich and a big plate of grand nachos. Both were delicious

We had two IPA beers and they were reasonably priced too

Fun bar setting with family friendly seating and a small bar

Glad we found it on trip advisor with good reviews
