Description: Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar opened in 2009, reviving the former Amen name of Cumberland Street and restoring this historic corner. The new renovation stays true to the beauty of the original 1800's architecture while creating a comfortable atmosphere for contemporary life. Located at 205 East Bay Street in the heart of the historic district this Charleston seafood restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor dining all within walking distance of the local Market and the Charleston Harbor. The menu includes a variety of seafood dishes such as oysters, clams and shrimp in addition to an ever growing raw bar menu. Amen Street supports Charleston's local fishing industry with market fresh fish. We are open for lunch and dinner. Walk-ins are welcome and reservations are accepted as well.

“Seafood with options”

They had good prices for good food. Not just your average seafood menu, either. Nice combinations, and fresh fish. Awesome smokey diced potatoes! They had a couple local (SC) beers as well.

“Very good seafood”

Everything I have eaten there has been great, they always have wonderful raw seafood treats! The service is fine at best but its a fairly casual place.

“Entrees were excellent, Raw bar was not.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 February 2012

I had the shrimp and lobster risotto, which was great comfort food. My husband had the filet mignon which was excellent (the mushrooms were fantastic too). What bothered us about the experience was the oysters. The bay oysters were ok, but we had better at A.W. Shucks, and the unique oysters were overpriced. The bar staff was very attentive and pleasant, but the hostesses were a little on the snotty side.

“Great foog and atmosphere but pricey for dinner”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

I have the feeling that this is a trendy place. The atmosphere is great, looks like a bar but the little benches are really comfy. Service was a little slow but nice. Food was really excellent. Overall the experience is good but looking at the bill I felt it was not totally worth the value compared to other great restaurants in Charleston that clearly raise the bar higher (they don't bring bread or water when you sit in, the towels are disposable... those are small things that explain my judgement.)

Atmosphere was great and the Fried Green Tomatoes, Pickled Okra and Pimento Cheese were scrumptious.
