This restaurant was recommended to us and we drove 11 miles to get there. Found parking on the street but wait until after 6PM as the parking enforcement is not in effect! Greeted warmly by the hostess and gave our name for our reservation which was made thru Open Table. Make sure you ask for the waiter Kelly! He is the man and really made this dining experience 5 stars. He carefully explained the menu and gave us ample time to select our choices. We were a table of 5 and had our drink order filled very quickly. Had the best vodka gimlet ever which had fresh limes squeezed. Fish dishes order were creative and fresh. Steak came out perfectly and Kelly continued to check to make sure all was well. I like an attentive waiter who checks on our progress as we get thru the meal. The house salad was wonderful and portion size was great. Was impressed that this neighborhood restaurant was busy on a Tuesday night! A real gem in Charleston and I have eaten in many restaurants in Charleston---don't miss this one and also save room for great desserts!!!

This is another really good spot in Charleston, that has excellent food, and just a few minutes walk from MUSC. If you have a vendor in town, it's a great spot for lunch meetings. The food is excellent and the service is friendly, and you have room for median sized parties (4-8). Try to get there by 11am or after 1pm. It does get busy at the peak hour.

We spent 2 nights in Charleston on our way to a month's stay in Florida. Our B&B was only a couple of blocks away and, fortunately, the proprietors recommended Lana. Located on a corner of a busy intersection, the restaurant is a bit hard to spot. But once inside, we realized that it showed considerable flair. The server was personable and informative, and the ambiance was really pleasant. Our meals were both well prepared and well presented, and we left very satisfied. We would highly recommend to visitors in Charleston.

Lana continues to deliver excellent food, good (and friendly) service, reasonable prices and a pleasant atmosphere away from the East Bay Street chaos. Parking is easy on the street. We both had fish -- a special of wreckfish with fennel and the regular menu Sautéed Flounder, Pea Coulis, Asparagus, Jerusalem Artichoke, Mint. I strayed from my favorite lamb spanakopita and tried the Seared Scallops, Leek Fondue, Oyster Mushrooms, English Peas, Spring Onions appetizer. Now I have a conundrum. What to order next time -- and there will be a next time!

Lana's is located outside of the heart of the Charleston dining area, but is in an up and coming location. The happy hour is just great and our bartender was terrific. Made a great Old Fashioned using her fathers receipe! The food was flavorful and fresh, the prices were excellent and we had a great waiter. Our server's last name was Kelly and he had worked at the restaurant since it opened. He certainly knew the menu well.
We liked the low key atmosphere and since we ate early, there were families there from the neighborhood. Lana' is definitely worth a visit (or two or three).
