“Doin the Charleston Tour”

Had a good time on this tour. There were only four of us but the driver/guide was very accommodating. The information was interesting and was accompanied by slides on the van's tv screen. We got to see pictures of what some of the mansions looked like inside. The pace was great, not too rushed and the tour locations were beautiful. What a lovely city! Great time. Recommend it highly!

“The Charleston Tea Party Private Tour”

If you want to get the real history and flavor of Charleston, SC this is the one to take. Laura has researched and knows the history of Charleston. She has spent time studying manuscripts, letters and books and has come to understand the writers and the culture of the times. Every comment shows her deep love and appreciation of the "Holy City." I would recommend note paper and pencil to record all the wonderful information you will hear. The background information about the homes, public buildings and gardens could only be shared by a person who has lived in Charleston her whole life. The lunch was truly elegant and delicious prepared by Laura herself. What a positively delightful day. You will not be disappointed. src712

“Charleston is Charming!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

We did a Grey Line tour in Charleston, including a history tour, mansion visit and boat trip to Fort Sumter. It was very well done. The trolley guide is a well versed "Charlestonian" and full of tasty insights about life in the City. The city itself is a wonderful collection of colonial and Victorian beautifully preserved homes and gardens, a delight to view. We visited the mansion of a wealthy rice plantation owner which was nicely restored with many of the original pieces of furniture still in the home.
After the hour home tour, we grabbed the trolley to the pier where we took the 40-minute boat trip to Fort Sumter, the site of the first shot fired in the Civil War. An adorable Park Ranger was on site to give a wonderful talk about the first troops and battle that took place. Very interesting.
The Fort is interesting to walk around, but not too much to see, ,just to absorb the history.
Good city to visit.

“What a blast!”

We went on the night time graveyard/ghost tour. Our guide told us ghost stories about different buildings we passed along the way. We ended in one of the oldest graveyards (Circular Congregational Church I think) and it was pitch black outside. Very cool! The whole family loved it.

“Two Sisters Tour”

What a fun morning; learning about the history of Charleston from Teresa, who is a native Charlestonian. There is so much history and also some fun remarks about growing up in the "Holy City". It was a delightful morning spent with a terrific guide.
