Market Street Saloon serves drinks only and doesn't open until 7:00pm. Girls are encouraged to dance on top of the bar. They don't serve food, and the menu on Trip Advisors doesn't apply. Food is served next door at Queology, http://queology.com.

This place is a little crazy, but lots of fun. This isn’t the kind of place you want to take your parents for a drink when they’re visiting, as it definitely caters to the college/young professional crowd. There’s a $5 cover, which is annoying, but I find that they almost always waive it for girls. There’s always a line out front to get in, but it does move quickly. As soon as you walk in, there’s a girl selling you a discounted shot, though you’re under no obligation to take it. Once you get upstairs, you really see what the place is all about. It’s always packed, making biggest challenge is getting to the bar. If you can get there, I recommend that someone in your party try to obtain some real estate, and always order two drinks at a time. There’s a DJ pumping music, and people will dance where they have room. The real show, though, is on the bar. The female bartenders attempt to give the girls of Coyote Ugly a run for their money with similar dance routines. They’ll also allow select patrons (almost exclusively female) up on the bar to join them, but you have to be asked; don’t just jump up there or you’ll probably be out of the bar. Mostly, it’s bachelorette parties who get up there, as you’re likely to see 10 separate groups on the same night; fellas, beware. One cool thing for girls who do get up to dance is that security protects them, so guys, make sure you don’t get handsy or you’re out. Overall, this isn’t my regular scene, but it’s definitely lively and fun, and it’s something everyone should try at least once. And it’s got to be the best bachelorette party place in town.

Called in for a drink (to the bar not the restaurant) and ended up getting some ribs to try them. They were simply awesome. Literally fell from the bone, melted in my mouth and required no sauce.

Iwould suggest you ignore some of the bad reviewson here and go along to try some righteous bbq. Sit in the bar if you dont want to see people dancing on tables.... imagine seeing people enjoying themselves, how dare they!

My husband and I dropped in here for a quick meal while in Charleston. Being from the Memphis area, it is hard to find BBQ that even comes close BUT I think we found the restaurant that did! My husband got the pork BBQ and I got the wings and both were delicious. The waitress was so pleasant and helpful. If we were staying here a few more days, we'd go back!

service and food where less than minimum acceptance . Let's leave it at that. We try to go to different places each time wife and I drive to market and this is one we should have passed on. I hope the tourists don't judge Chas. dine based on eating here.
