Description: Occupying adjacent spaces on Queen Street, Husk’s structures date back to the late 1800s. The main dining room, constructed in 1893, evokes the grandeur of Charleston, and speaks to the transformation of the city over time. Victorian details and turned columns were layered over the original Queen Anne-style façade through the years, and the buildings fell into disrepair until discovered by Husk ownership. The Neighborhood Dining Group President David Howard set into a motion an extensive remodeling effort of both. Although both buildings retain their antique charm and stately character, the renovations imbued each with a modern, minimalist theme. Like the reinterpreted food served within, each space has been laid bare, revealing reclaimed floors, original windows, and exposed brick throughout. The main house features an open kitchen with a wood-burning oven and dining room.

We had drinks on the patio before dinner. The servers were such cute and fun girls. Our dinner atmosphere was great....upstairs on the terrace. Dinner was good. My husband loved his oysters and the steak was fine. Veggies were great. Service was average.

Beautiful restaurant, and despite the busy night, everyone was friendly. We went off book a bit and ordered an array of apps and were very satisfied. The mushroom toast was especially good. Nice wine selection, decently priced.

After reading about Husk for several years, we finally got to visit Charleston and were able to nab a lunchtime reservation (dinnertime was impossible to get). What can I say other than fabulous! I had a salad with flank steak topped with an incredible horseradish sauce along with their famous cornbread. Washed it down with two glasses of a French wine (sorry -- can't remember the name) which was delicious. The service was attentive but not "familiar" or smothering. The setting is in a historic house and gorgeous. I highly recommend -- see if you can get a dinner slot but lunch was wonderful.

The space, the service and the food were all excellent. We arrived early, and had a drink on the patio while we waited for our table. The cocktails were great and we were seated promptly at our reservation time. Our server, Tanya, offered excellent insight into that day's menu (it regularly changes based on availability of ingredients) and our food more than lived up to the hype. The pork was incredible. My partner's fried fish was light and tender. And the oatmeal pie sealed the deal. One goes to a restaurant like this expecting the food to be excellent, and it was, but what sets this place apart was the comfortable feel we experienced. I'll happily go back the next time I'm in Charleston.

Truly enjoyed my latest visit to Husk. This time I had the pimento cheese appetizer and the hamburger. Their burger was ground beef mixed with bacon and...well...it was amazing! Love this restaurant.
