“Pirates & Buccaneers Tour”
Reviewed 21 April 2008

My husband and I enjoyed this tour,it was a little long. Our guide, Brian, was very knowledgeable.

This is a great tour for the HISTORY of pirates. We got to see some of the oldest buildings in Charleston, also with our walk/tour cost we received admisson to the Old Provost and Dungeon.

“A good tour, longwinded and bad jokes”
Reviewed 4 January 2008

Family took the Ghost tour on Christmas eve, December 24th. The guide was really into his job. His enthusiasm and story telling were superior. Although one would expect to hear many stories, he was extremely long winded and told many, too many bad jokes. He tried a little too hard and was unable to read his audience. You could tell our fellow ghost riders and our family were close to sticking their fingers in their eyes because of the lengthy stories and the bad jokes. The guides ability to tell great Charleston Ghost stories was diminished by his inability to read his audience. There was a lot of grumbling from the walkers.

“Boring, Unbelievable Ghost Walk”
Reviewed 10 November 2007

This evening, some friends and I took the Ghosts and Legends walk, and it was unfortunately very disappointing.
The tour guide arrived late, and offered no apology or explanation. She made little effort to engage the group, and plowed along ahead of us without much conversation. She made several statements that were historically inaccurate, in spite of the fact that she was a registered tour guide. The tour was boring, the stories told with little creativity or enthusiasm. I didn't believe much, if any, or her redundantly told tales. I don't recommend this tour.

“Ghosts and Legends Walk”
Reviewed 31 October 2007

On a recent trip to Charleston, it was suggested that we try the walking tour offered by the Original Charleston Walks tour group. My husband and I were interested in a tour involving local "haunts" and a hotel employee referred us to this company. I have to say the tour was very well done and our guide, Al, was both informative and entertaining. We were shown a number of points of interest during our tour and Al, being a native, had a lot of additional info. to add to the tour. We even spent some time with him after the tour just discussing local culture and history. It was very well organized, affordable and an easy walk around downtown Charleston. I would highly recommend this company and Al in particular.

“Got some great pics on this walk. Great for the family!”
Reviewed 11 June 2007

We brought our kids (13 & 6) on this ghost walk. We were worried that it would be too scary for them but they enjoyed it and they didn't get too creeped out.

The walk is, like others have mentioned, a history lesson. BUT- if you are lucky you may get some good pictures. I got a couple good pics in the graveyards of what look like ghostly figures but they are hard to see unless you blow the images up. I also got a couple good "orb" shots.

All in all we really enjoyed the walk and we do recommend it to others visiting Charleston that want the experience without getting too scared.

After our tour we visited Poogan's Porch and Southend Brewery. Both believed to be haunted. :-)
