“Great Location”
Reviewed 4 September 2014

We selected this location so we could walk to various points including the water taxi, Ft. Sumter ferry and the aquarium. It is a large hotel that is conveniently located in the historic district. We asked the concierge for advice, but had to wait several minutes since he is so popular. Unfortunately, he steered to the wrong bar, but that was okay, we got to walk around lovely Charleston. There is a nice size pool and a small restaurant at the hotel as well.

The hotel prides itself in Concierge Kevin, who am sure is great but we met with Adriana, who is ever much as good! Great advice on tours, sightseeing and restaurants. Explained more to us on Low Country cuisine and where to get the best value. Plan to come back and stay here again.

Room Tip: Try for room on the back side of hotel. Some early morning street traffic.

Great location...walking distance to everything. Clean, updated, comfortable rooms. Easy parking, very helpful concierge. Not your quaint bed and breakfast or historical type of experience in Charleston but a good place to crash and relax after a long day of sightseeing.

Stayed here for 1 night. Last minute trip to Charleston. It was a great location to shops, restaurants & night life. Took about 20 minutes to get to Folly Beach which was the main reason for going. Rooms were what you expect from Courtyard, roomy (with fridge), clean, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for one night after kids decided they were done camping. Pool was a big draw. Rooms were clean and comfy. But, what made the stay spectacular was Kevin the Concierge. And WOW did he make our two day stay in Charleston special. Our children are 9 and 7 and he suggested a tandem bike rental for our tour of historic Charleston (because, as he so gently pointed out, what kids really want to be dragged around on foot a super hot day to see a bunch of old homes). By the end of our bike ride, my daughter turned to me and said "This wasn't a waste of time at all, mom." Thank you Kevin.

Sorry the photos are all mixed up when I uploaded them they were in order, when the system put them on here it mixed them all up.. ;-(

Being a travel agent for a very large travel company which is based all over the world I would say without a doubt this hotel is a great find in a great area of town!

The concierge here Kevin McQuade is amazing!! He knows what he is doing when it comes to location, good food, entertainment and places to go.. If you do not speak to him while at this hotel or best done BEFORE you arrive then "SHAME" on you!! He pre-arranged dinner reservations for us at Hanks Seafood (details to come) and then at Coast (details to come)

Stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott which sits on the corner of Meeting and Calhoun St. Right in the heart of the historic district. I was there Aug 16-20

What a great location! Good hotel as well. Very clean, accommodating and CLOSE to EVERYTHING~~

If you’re a Marriott specialist you can get this hotel at a sweet price!

The staff at the hotel were super nice and very pleasant to deal with. The concierge Kevin McQuade once again was the most amazing. The hotel offers FREE wifi and there is an outdoor pool area which is actually pretty small and pretty decent workout area for a smaller hotel. This hotel also has a nice lounge area to eat in they do offer food Breakfast and dinner choices. They have a STARBUCKS right there in the hotel..There is also a small market area in the hotel. While there at the hotel there really is NO need to have a car as this property sits within three blocks of EVERYTHING, dining, shopping (KING ST) nightlife etc. If you do have a car they charge $18.00 a night to park. The parking garage is very small and they allow big SUVs to park in the underground part which makes it very hard to maneuver through when trying to get in a spot or out.

We went to Hanks Seafood (about 4 blocks ) from the hotel we ate here the first night in town. The food was just amazing. This place is a bit pricey $$$ our meal was pretty pricy without drinks but did include appetizer, entrée, desert & tip. We also ate at Virgina's along with Joe's Pizza..ALL the food in this town is amazing ..Some more pricey then others but well worth the money..

The next night we went to Coast Bar & Grill for dinner, this is a cool place that sits back in a gangway so you cannot see it from the street. But again about 3 blocks from this Courtyard hotel. The food was once again amazing and a bit less expensive $$. We both got the same dish that night the Seared Tuna and it melted in my mouth…

Kevin gave us insight to many cool things to do. The Battery is a neighborhood where some of the coolest real estate sits and of course the coastal water inlet. Truly a site to behold. It was extremely hot there very close to 100 degrees every single day, no rain at all. August might not be the best month to go if you do not like the heat/humidity. If you love old architecture and cool history stuff this would be the area to go visit for sure.

KING ST-. I would say about 10 blocks total of prime shopping in that city. This 10 blocks does not include the additional blocks on the same KING ST of eating establishments and entertainment which are just across Calhoun St...This street is just about 3 blocks from the hotel.

Over all I would recommend this city and this hotel for it's location..

Room Tip: I really did not see all the rooms but my room was in the old brick section of the hotel. The room...

Overall we really liked the hotel. Loved that the parking was easy and they have a pretty little outdoor pool. The room was nice with a larger than normal bathroom. It just felt like every time we wanted to go do something it was a 15 min or more walk to the destination. There were very few restaurants or bars right outside the door. It was horrible just not perfect for us. Staff was so nice and helpful and the lobby is really decorated nice. Next time I might explore options a little closer to the action but I would also consider staying here again.

Room Tip: We had a corner room with a balcony. Really nice and bright with extra windows too!

Dear ccctravels,

Thank you for choosing our hotel on your trip from Dallas, Texas and for taking the time to give us feedback from your experience.

It is great to hear that you enjoyed our oversized bathrooms, pool, and found our parking so convenient. Your comments about the service our staff offered you are a testament to their hard work and we will be sure to pass these kind words along to them.

Our location is just one block away from King Street, which is home to all of the top new restaurants and is the most vibrant part of town in the evening. Guests love King Street as you can really go from bar to bar until you find the atmosphere you are looking for. If you want to have the luxury of being right in the middle of the restaurant and nightlife scene in Charleston, our location is definitely where you want to stay.

We look forward to your next stay with us and thank you for your business!

Sincerely,
Grant Hoskins
