“Perfect for a game at Blackbaud.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2013

We were in town for 2 nights last September for the USL Pro Championship game (soccer) and wanted a hotel close to Blackbaud Stadium - this Hampton is literally within walking distance, although I think we were the only ones who actually walked! Beware of the mosquitoes - the most numerous and vicious anywhere in the Carolinas ;)

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, even changing our room rate after the booking to reflect the lower rate for our team versus the original AAA rate. The King room was a decent size, clean and comfortable, if a little uninspiring.

The self-serve breakfast bar seemed very small at busy times, but there was a reasonable seating area. Breakfast itself was included and was OK - cereal, waffle-maker etc., plus a couple of hot offerings (eggs and sausage) - but with plastic cutlery and styrofoam plates.

Parking was free and plentiful. Daniel Island is easily accessible from Highway 17 and downtown Charleston, right off 526. The Queen Anne's Revenge (pub/restaurant) is across the parking lot from the hotel, handy for drowning your sorrows when your team loses to the Battery..............;)

After driving down from Charlotte, NC for a daytrip at the beach with our two kids (infant and toddler), we soon realized we needed a spot to refresh and rest. After looking around Isle of Palms and finding fully-booked or pricey options, we found this lovely Hampton Inn in Daniels Islane (15 minutes away from Isle of Palms off of I-526).

First, as soon as you pull off of the interstate you notice that this is a VERY nice area to stay in. It has newer retail shops, stores and home developments and has a very nice and clean feel to it. Once you drive and find the hotel, its tucked away and not near anything resembling noise or traffic. As soon as we checked in, we jumped right into the pool to cool off from the beach, and were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and appearance.

The room was very clean and updated. A pack n' play was provided for our infant to sleep in, and the king size bed was (almost) big enough to account for our 2-year olds sleeping habit of sleeping perpendicular to the parents (argh). Needless to say a good breakfast was needed to makeup for the lack of sleep, and it didn't disappoint. In spite of a large gathering of 10-15 year old boys making a trip for a national lacrosse tournament, the breakfast staff kept all of the warm and cold food and drink options stocked and clean.

I was very impressed with this location and will make this our place of stay moving forward. Drive 15 minutes in either direction and you'll be in Isle of Palms or Downtown Charleston; but with the lovely locale of Daniels Island, you might spend an evening in its quaint comforts too (try the Brick Oven Pizza place or the local Ice Cream shop).

Room Tip: The hotel is positioned away from any noticeable traffic or noise, so all options seem good aside fr...

I recently spent a weekend at the Daniel Island Hampton Inn with my husband and 9 yr. old. I would highly recommend this hotel for several reasons. For example, the room was very clean as well as all other parts of the hotel that I encountered including the pool area. What really impressed me was the hotel staff as they went above and beyond to make our experience there a positive one. In particular, Hope, was exceptional! Also, Jack, was kind enough to send us my son's swim trunks and shirt which we accidently left behind. Daniel Island is a lovely place and it was made even more enjoyable because of our stay at this hotel. A HUGE A+!

Daniel Island about five miles from Charleston, SC offers a nice clean Hampton Inn.This hotel is about thirteen years old but looks and feels brand new. The outdoor pool is very clean. The property smells and feels clean. The beds are very comfortable with crisp white linen. Bath towels and wash cloths were also in good condition.Bathroom was sparkly clean and the carpet did not have stains.Breakfast Bar was good with bagels, fruit, coffee, tea and juices. Staff was very nice and professional.Daniel Island is the perfect place for outside activities, swimming, tennis, shopping, hiking or relaxing and just a few minutes from Charleston, SC..
I will recommend Hampton Inn at Daniel Island.
You can always spot a well-managed property.Karen Creighton

Stayed at this hotel for nephews graduation. The Hampton Inn didn't disappoint. It was a convenient hotel with a great breakfast and Daniel Island is a great place to visit. We would stay here again the next time we visit.

Just returned from a two-night stay and I must say, the staff was outstanding. From the main desk, to the breakfast area, as well as housekeeping, everyone we encountered were kind, respectful and helpful. This hotel is clean and the breakfast was very good and changed daily. We slept comfortably, the kids enjoyed the pool and the location is great. Only suggestion would be having a small fridge/micro in the room would have been nice for cold drinks, leftovers from restaurants, etc. since they serve breakfast only. Thanks for a great stay!

While farther outside of Charleston than I originally wanted to go, it ended up being a good location. It was in a quite and safe area, with a great restaurant right across the parking lot. It was also in close proximity to Patriot's Point which turned out to be perfect for our schedule/plans. The room was standard, no view (its an industrial area, so there's really nothing to view) and mostly clean - though I did come across a rather large spider web in the corner. Breakfast was great and it was a decent stay - especially for one night. If visiting Charleston for a longer period of time, you should probably consider another location...
