We stayed two nights with teenaged daughters a week before Christmas. We had a lovely ground floor room w/ a French door to the courtyard which was a treat. The room was very comfy, clean and roomy for the 4 of us. It was a close to good food, shopping and photo ops but set just back from the boistrous noise of the city proper. Market Street is a pleasant walk from the hotel and we also enjoyed the neighboring park w/ its holiday lights at night.
One oddity: We left our room at 7am to return at 2 pm. One daughter got in the tub and the other wanted a nap after all that exploring. That is when housekeeping finally showed up to clean! She was clearly annoyed with us inconveniencing her and although we convinced her to leave and come back later, the nap was a bomb knowing someone could come knocking again at any minute. I had also brought back a partial bottle of wine from our dinner the night before, and no one would find me a glass to drink it out of. Had to go buy one.
The breakfast was substantial, varied and very good, as was the unlimited coffee. All in all, it was a great escape and we look forward to coming back to the Hampton Inn in the historic distric for a longer stay.More
