“One of the nicest hotels we've stayed in!”
Reviewed 15 April 2011

There were many things about this hotel that my wife and I really liked, but topping the list was the hotel staff. Everyone was so helpful and friendly from day one through day six. They just couldn't have been more pleasant. Aside from the staff, who could not like a hotel that serves champagne and lady fingers upon arrival, wine and cheese every evening, milk and cookies every night, and a generous continental breakfast every morning! The location is great, too, walking distance to everything. The only minor point I could make--and it is definitely minor--was that the room could have been somewhat better lit. Bottom line: It's not an inexpensive hotel, but we would stay there again in a heartbeat! (Oh--one other thing: we had dinner one night at Tristan, the hotel restaurant, and it was excellent!)

The French Quarter Inn is very fortunate to have an incredible staff that strives to ensure excellent service and that our guests truly enjoy themselves. Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge the hard work that we do. The new lamps, which are one of the final phases of this year’s renovation, are scheduled for delivery at the end of the month and will bring a plethora of lighting to each room. We look forward to your return.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the French Quarter Inn this week and our stay was great. They had complimentary breakfast and basically 24 hour coffee service, with milk and cookies at night. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and they were very service oriented. The location of the hotel was great also - centrally located to all things downtown Charleston has to offer. We would return.

My stay at the French Quarter Inn was nice, maybe not 450.00 a night nice but nice never the less. The staff was really nice and helpful but the suite was nothing to get excited about. The Queen suite was large, I had one without a baloney but most was wasted space. The location is great and the wine at 5pm was nice as was the cookies served
at 8:30 each night but I must admit I have mixed feelings about ever staying here again.
If your looking to have someone cater to your every need I would say this may be the place
for you but if you think the room is going to be something special its not. I have stayed at
may hotels and this would rank somewhere in the upper 40% but not like a suite at the
Reach in Keywest more like a upscale Holiday Inn Express.

Room Tip: If you get a Queen Suite get a Baloney!

We are disappointed that the French Quarter Inn was not all that you had hoped for and more. We strive to ensure our Four Diamond service is excellent, offer amenities other hotels do not including champagne and lady fingers at check in, an evening wine and cheese reception, milk and cookies before bed, and a continental breakfast, along with all day refreshments and snacks just to mention a few, and a location in the heart of it all. Our Double Queen One Bedroom Suites are the largest rooms in the hotel with 674 square feet of space, boasting a full separate living room with pullout couch, a bedroom with two queen size beds, armoire with 40 inch flat screen TV, a blu-ray/DVD player, mini-refrigerator, in-room safe, a breakfast table to enjoy in-room continental breakfast delivery, and the bathroom is spacious with a Jacuzzi tub and separate walk-in shower. This room easily accommodates 6 adults and is typically reserved by ladies sharing a getaway or families who enjoying being able to spread out. We also have many other room types ranging in square footage from 340 to 740. Our apologies that you were not satisfied with our offerings. We hope you do give us a chance to prove how wonderful our property is, the next time you stay in Charleston.

Once again the French Quarter Inn out did it self in service. They have hospitality down to perfection. From the champagne greeting to wine and cheese in early evening to cookies at night. Jelly belly's and m&m's or ice tea and lemon aid and who doesn't love a turn down service with chocolate from Kilwin's. The staff is exceptional. We will always stay at the French Quarter Inn when in Charleston, SC

I chose this Hotel because of the pictures seen on their website. They did not do it justice. It far surpassed my expectations. We were welcomed and felt appreciated and catered to during our visit to Charleston. The service and they went out of their way to be helpful in offering suggestions during our stay. The cookies were Great. and I would love to return to Charleston and the French Quarter Inn. Thanks for the memories.

We wanted to thank the FQI for remembering my husbands birthday with in room champagne waiting for us upon check-in. We have stayed there on numerous occaisions and although it was a late made reservation with only the most expensive room being available we were happy to get it as it was Bridge Run Weekend. We would have liked a balcony for that money but..... Had an excellent 6 course tasting menu at Tristan restaurant located in the Hotel. We will definitely be back.

We were a little to early for check in but the staff helped us with our luggage and took down our information so we would be able to come back to the hotel and just pick up our keys. After walking around and shopping for a bit we headed back to the hotel. When we walked into the hotel the valet informed us that our luggage was already waiting for us in our room. Then the front desk staff handed us our keys and told us a little about our room. We were not offered the champagne and lady fingers at check in - I believe because it was 15 min. before 3 p.m. (I have a feeling they are very set to their schedule). However, the service at French Quarter Inn still can't be beat.

We entered our room and realized we had been upgraded to a Business Suite. Our room had a large bathroom, King size bed, armour, small table and chairs, computer desk with a computer, and an oversize balcony. We loved it!!

The hotel offers guests refreshments throughout the day. On the 1st floor you can get hot and/or cold coffee and tea plus sweets. One the other floors there is a hot tea and coffee station. In the evenings the hotel sets up a wine and cheese reception. We had our breakfast delivered to our room and it was delicious. We ordered coffee, fresh fruit, and pastries (chocolate croissants, apple fritter, croisants).

We will definitely be returning to the French Quarter Inn.
