Owner description: The story of Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier is, above all else, a story of love. A story that, at its core, is about one man's love for sharing his creations with others and his dedication to his French origins. Christophe Paume is the rarest of artisans, a third-generation French chocolatier, who grew up in his father's patisserie in Toulouse, France. Alongside his father, he learned to create exquisite French pastry, the highest quality chocolates, succulent gelato, and every type of bread imaginable. After attending the CFA de Muret, Christophe moved to Paris and worked at Entremet de France, refining his hand-painted, one-of-a-kind creations of dark, white, and milk chocolate ganache and chocolate truffles. For the next ten years, he continued to work in the family business and traveled to Montreal to work at Patisserie de Gascogne. He also achieved his Brevet de Maitrise, Master in Pastry. While it was his passion for fine chocolate that brought him to the United States, it was love that kept him here. In 2009, he married Carly, a sales rep for the same chocolate company he worked for, and they formed Christophe Artisan Chocolatier-Patissier.

A must stop for chocaholics. Also great for coffee and pastry in the morning or after dinner. Just a short walk from our hotel.

Amazing! Simply amazing!!! We sampled the chocolate dipped macaroons, truffles, sandy/chocolate cookies, pate de fruits, and a few other items, each of which were to die for. If you can't be in Paris, this is about as good as you're going to get. Yum!!

This place is awesome! Cafe-bakery- patisserie.. Something for everyone. We had 12 people and the lady there was so nice. We sat outback and enjoyed chocolate treats, hot chocolate, hot tea, and ice tea. Don't miss this delicious spot in Charleston if you are a chocoholic or just need a place to sit and relax for a bite. really lovely.

Awesome coffee, awesome chocolates, great pastries, and wonderful staff! The french press coffee is a wonderful complement to the wonderful little hand painted truffles and I had an awesome almond apple tart. I will most certainly be back at Christophe's soon! The value here is excellent and I can't wait to make my way through their whole menu of options. See you soon!

I visited this cafe based on the recommendation of another Tripadvisor member and it was totally worth it. The cafe was very clean, cool, had a good atmosphere and the selection was good. Best part was for a 12 oz, iced, French press coffee it was only $2. I had that and a mixed berry tartlett, which was fresh and not overly sweet. The cafe has additional seating upstairs, and after 1 1/2 hours of walking in the burning Charlestonian sun, it provided for a great respite. We recuperated, reenergized, and rehydrated. Beware of the bottled water. It was something heart shockingly like $3 for a 12 ounce bottle. We didn't see the complimentary water dispenser set up on the side until it was too late.

Glad that you liked our store! The great thing about Christophe is that his pastries are not overly sweet..he still bakes with a French mentality. I was concerned slightly about your review of the price of our bottled water. We do only charge $1.00 for a 16.9 ounce bottle. Possibly there was a confusion with another store? We do not believe in over charging for any of our product...we like to stay very customer friendly. Thanks for coming and hopefully you will stop by next time you are in town.
