For many years we were only spectators peering through the magnificent wrought iron fence that surrounds this property in true Charleston Southern Style. It was a dream to stay there if only for a night. My husband surprised me by driving up to the gates, parking....and as I suspected a stroll through White Point Gardens and the gazebo overlooking the Battery (where he proposed to me). My jaw dropped when he entered the gate to this "Amazing" home and uttered "Let's go check in." It took me a good 20 minutes to be able to even speak! Always wondering how it would be to be inside and feel the history of the home, and here I was....a guest!
I can only say that the inside was every bit as amazing as the magnificent architectural display from peering through those gates. The staff treated us as if we were royalty! Not one need or curiosity was unmet or unsatisfied. Afternoon tea was truly outstanding.....visiting with Mrs. Spell, the Innkeeper could not have offered more warmth to this experience! I complimented her on her staff and she graciously smiled saying "They are good aren't they?" To which I responded, "No Ma'am just "good" is an insult! They are Unbelievable! There are no words to describe this overall three night experience was. Looking forward to visiting again!
