Nice, new, shiny hotel with happy staff. Our take? The rooms are Holiday Inn Express, the public spaces are boutique hotel. Nice restaurant and late night bar. Exterior is glass and steel modernistic, attractive! Rates are also attractive, compared to hotels on the Market.
When you read the ad for the hotel, it states Historic Center. It's true that the Charleston Visitors Center is close-by. However, it's six blocks south to Francis Marion Square and the edge of King Street shopping. Even further to the Market. Single women would not walk it after dusk. I see that a shuttle is available, which could help. In a year or two, much of this will change as you see new buildings going up everywhere. But for now,... check the location.
Enjoy Charleston. It's everything you've heard!!More
