This place is brand new. I like what they've done with it and it is trendy. Only odd thing was their restaurant was not open for lunch. The location is on the edge of the most desirable sections. A little further south would be nice, but it looks like the area is up and coming and transitioning for the better. The pool is beautiful and the furnishings and amenities are very modern. The windows and doors are double insulated so there is absolutely no noise from outside that can make it inside. There is also a state liquor store right next door if you forget to bring anything from home! I would return!

Room Tip: 5th floor is top floor. Some rooms have balconies, so ask if that is important to you.

Oban and the Isle of Skye are probably two of my favorite places on earth. Having said that, many thanks for your great review.
We all appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. When you next visit Charleston we hope we have the pleasure of welcoming you back.
Kind regards,

This place was a fairly new hotel. Very clean with very friendly staff. Ordered room service on the first night. It was delivered in a timely fashion and food was hot. The hotel only has valet service for your car, but they were quick on pick up and delivery. Room was the cleanest I have ever seen. The hotel is on the north edge of the Historic district.

I'm pleased to read your review, especially that you had a clean room. A clean room in our eyes is the most important thing. I will pass on your kind comments to the housekeeping team and also share your kind words with the valet department.
Many thanks.

We had a Thursday night king with a bridge view and parking for $99 + about $23 tax. Agree with other reviews that staff is super and it is a new facility that is bright and clean. The modern construction makes for a bit of noise between rooms and from the hallway. An upper floor eliminates street noise. The free tourist trolley stops just across the street and some planning offsets the distance to major attractions.

Room Tip: Even number (kings only, I think) fifth floor

I think the style and decor of this hotel is outstanding. Everyone we have dealt with(front desk, valet, bar, restaurant) have been very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in walking distance to many great restaurants, the visitors center, and the children's museum. The rom is spacious and comfortable. We have a large balcony with table and chairs. I will definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Higher floors. Room with patio

This Holiday Inn was a wonderful place to stay. Although it was at the edge of the Historic Area, it enabled us to see everything as we walked the streets of historic Charleston. The hotel is clean and well cared for and the staff couldn't have been nicer. They tended to all of our needs with such a polite and caring manner. We especially want to thank Brendan, Tammy and Kristan. I wish I remembered the names of the doormen because they were awesome. This is a great place to stay as long as you are looking for a clean, reasonably priced hotel with excellent service.

Truly enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn. The hotel itself is clean and the rooms are comfortable. I believe that the customer service of this hotel sets it apart. The staff is extremely pleasant. The front desk staff is always very welcoming, especially Brendan. Brendan was always very pleasant and helpful. He made you feel like you were family visiting. The staff in the restaurant, bar and valet were great as well.

I also liked the convenient location. Short walk to almost everything downtown has to offer.

We look forward to returning to the Charleston area and will definitely stay at the Holiday Inn again.

Myself and two friends decided to spend one of the lady's birthday in Charleston. This hotel was more than we expected. Found out it opened in January of this year and it sure looked it. It was fresh and clean and the public areas are beautifully appointed. The room was large - two queen beds which were delightfully comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and included many mini amenities that one would expect in a nice hotel. Plenty of fluffy towels as well. Upon walking into the room, I was impressed that there were four pillows on each bed, but more than that, two pillows were bundled together with a very pretty tie and a label noting one pair was "soft" and the other pair of pillows was "firm". Nice touch. There was an abundance of outlets and ports in the room for all our electronic devices.

The hallways were wide and clean, the elevators fast and quiet. It was a very quiet hotel. As to the 2nd floor public areas - I was very impressed! Many lounge areas available for quiet conversations or just reading a book - and there was a "library" in a separate room - sofas, club chairs, lovely view, but no books. There was a small, but nicely equipped fitness room just before you go outside to the pool. Out the door on that second level is a lovely pool, tables and chairs, but what was so nice and appealing was the lounge area outside next to the pool under a roof. So we sat out there, chatted, enjoyed the lovely balmy evening and listened to the bubbling water in the pool - perfect! The lobby area was very nice, the staff attentive and very friendly. My car was parked the entire visit by the very friendly valet and bellboy and we were able to leave it there for the entire next day while we were still enjoying the city - even after we checked out (with our luggage safely tucked away in a room off the lobby).

We did have wine at the beautiful bar - during Happy Hour. The wine was relatively expensive even after the bit of discount and we were surprised that it being "Happy Hour" that there were no munchies to go with our drinks - little snacks put on the bar to munch on. We mentioned it to the very nice bartender and she thought it would be a good idea and would mention it to management. That's why I'm surprised that another reviewer mentioned the snacks - unless they had to pay for them.

The only negative and this is relative is that the hotel is a pretty good distance from the main historic shopping areas. It's about 6 blocks before the Visitor Center, but for us it wasn't a problem as we enjoy walking. It's not far from many fine restaurants, but it's an enjoyable walk down to many attractions. Of course, at this time of year, the temperature and humidity are basically non issues and we had a particularly beautiful two days. In the summertime I would imagine walking a mile and a half or more down to the City Market, etc. could be challenging, although there is a trolley available. It's definitely an advantage to park your car and leave it for the duration of your visit - parking isn't easily available around the city.

All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.
