The walk wasn't bad, and the view was totally worth it. We saw dolphins playing in the inlet right in front of the lighthouse. Cool drift wood. You can't get to the lighthouse but it's a beautiful view. I have three teenage girls they all had fun looking around.

Why would they block a perfect entrance way...hot walk that is longer than the 1/4 mile sign states...and bugs a plenty to view a lighthouse. I wouldn't recommend make an extra trip for this photo op.

Park along the street and walk about 1/4 mile one way to get to water's edge. The light house is out in the water, not far in the distance. We have 300mm lenses and were able to get good photographs. Looks like it could use some upkeep/renovation; don't know if in the works or not. Closed tower, never open as far as we could discover. The walk to the beach is nice, not too long. Take water on hot days.

We took a dolphin your thru the Folly River and visited the island, where we combed the beach for shells and splashed in the tidal pools. I highly recommend Captain Phil and Tideline Tours.

The Morris Island Lighthouse, is far out in the ocean. You can see it from land. You drive all the way north on Folly Road, park your car, walk along a fire road, and reach the beach where you can see the light house. The beach there is very beautiful. Large drift wood and boulders to scramble on. We were there on a cool windy day, but I imagine if it was 75 and sunny, it would be a fantastic place to set up at the beach for the day.
