“Excellent restaurant”
Reviewed 10 June 2014

I ate here the second nite in Charleston and was extremely pleased! I had made reservations which on a weekend night is probably wise - it was very crowded. The waitress definitely loved her job and was so passionate about the menu and some of the selections. I had tried a local fish, Wahoo, as an appetizer and loved it! It was made with olives, avocado, scallions and a lite sauce - all diced and extremely tasty and tender. For the entrée I had the seared Bluefin tuna poivre which again was so tender and tasty it melted in the mouth. The drinks were also well made. I enjoyed this food much better than the #1 rated Husk restaurant. It is located in an old bank - I thought the atmosphere was very pleasant and appealing. It is rather loud but not so that you cannot hear your companion. I completely recommend this restaurant. It is located on King Street which is a popular street for restaurants, bars and shopping so give yourself time to walk around before or after.

“Tasty fresh and elegant seafood”
Reviewed 9 June 2014 via mobile

Scored a reservation at the hot and trendy The Ordinary at the last minute on a June weekend. A little bit at the edge of the beaten path on King's St (so be prepared for a long walk if you are coming from the heart of downtown). Ambience was demonstrably converted bank, and so in my opinion lacked charm. The seafood was excellent. Particularly the razor clams dish. Oysters and sauces were superb. Definitely worth a meal when in Charleston.

“The Ordinary, your first choice in restaurants while in Charleston!”
Reviewed 8 June 2014

The food, service and atmosphere (very old bank) is superb! We ate our dinner at the bar and Brian, our bartender/waiter, was extremely helpful with food selection and gave us a "Mixology" lesson for free! Visit "The Ordinary " on your next dining outing in Charleston, SC!

“More than good oysters”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We wanted to eat oysters; they looked delicious. But we couldn't pass up the daily special lobster roll (soup, roll, french fries, dessert) and soup and fish entree.

Service was personal and professionally attentive. beer selection eclectic. Soups were rich and flavorful - filling. Entree servings were the current vogue of relatively small but well presented. Finally the dessert was an excellent panna cotta with berries. (We had forgotten how much we like a creamy panna cotta.)

The meal was a bit pricey but it was a leisurely, pleasant dining experience.
