“Not much for vegetarians/vegans.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2013

This restaurant came up as a result in a search for vegetarian restaurants in Charleston, but the menu has few choices for vegetarians. I asked the server what a vegetarian might be able to eat, and he suggested a noodle dish, which "only has a little fish sauce." That's not vegetarian, Green Door.

I'm just not hipster enough to enjoy quirkiness that tries way too hard to be quirky. My husband's burger was bloody raw, so he was only able to eat the outside edges of the sandwich. My noodle dish was spiced to the extreme, and I do mean every extreme, not spicy hot. But definitely too spicy hot. It came with some type of pickled beets that would have made a great side dish, but only served to dye the little slices of what appeared to be dehydrated bread- which also fell victim to the soupy mess it was plonked into, so sadly could not even be eaten.

Total waste of my admittedly un-hipster $60, and hopefully will be gone next time we come to town.

“An eclectic hotspot!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2013

The food here is delicious. The menu is really unique and if you are one to shy away from maverick recipes-- don't do that here! The flavors really work together. Its a departure from the typical charleston joint, and one that deserves a chance!

“Great place.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2013

I had a great lunch here. I was going next door to Earthling spa and needed a quick lunch. My waiter was very nice. I ordered the Kim Chi Fried Rice with sunny egg. I'd never had Kim Chi but was glad to get to try it. It was great and only $5! I also ordered a mimosa since it was on special for $3. It tasted great and even with a over 20% tip spent less than $11 for lunch with a drink. Good deal.

“Love Love Love”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2013

My friends and I love love love this tucked away restaurant. The food is amazing. Try the pork belly sandwhich with tater tots or if you are more into Asian fusion try the noodles. Recently celebrated a birthday with friends and we had a great time. If you are visiting Charleston and want to try something new and different, definitely try this place.

“Hidden treasure...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2013

The food here is very good. Very different... if this place were in NYC it would be full of hipsters... but alas it's not in NYC so normal people can go and enjoy... It's bit hidden and it of the way but it's worth the walk...
