“Just taking it easy ”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 via mobile

We go downtown Charleston every time we visit my parents. We were just taking it easy and decided to take a carriage ride. It was relaxing, educational and affordable. We even got a military discount! A+ service and our guides were great!

“Best way to see Charleston!”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

Very pleased with our experience at Classic! We made reservations online for the first tour of the morning at 9:30. We printed our tickets at home and arrived by 9:15 as instructed. Our guide, Ginger, and our black Percheron, Dakota, gave us a wonderful tour. It was already hot at 9:30 (late July), so I was really glad we took the first time slot, plus Classic offers a discount if you reserve ahead for this time. The normal charge of $25 is reduced to $18. Make sure to scroll all the way through the various options and prices on the website or you might miss the specials. As a horse lover, I was happy to see the love and care all the horses receive at this stable. Honestly, all the stables are in the same area and all the horses in Charleston look well cared for, so that was impressive as well. Nevertheless, we found Classic to be a great tour!

“Civil War Carriage Tour!”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Took Classic Carriage Works' Civil War tour this morning, with Matt (human) and Berry (horse) as our guides. I could not have been any more impressed with Matt's knowledge of the story behind Charleston and South Carolina's role in the events leading up to, and during, the American Civil War. Matt did an excellent job weaving his storytelling with the sights we were seeing from the carriage - which by the way was clean and comfortable. Our tour was at 11am - a bit humid (July, after all), but very pleasant under the carriage canopy. I can't compare Classic Carriage Works to any of the other companies operating in Charleston, as we only toured with one. But I can attest to having had a 5-star experience with Matt, Berry, and Classic Carriage Works. An excellent way to spend an hour (might have actually been 70 minutes, or so) during a visit to Charleston.

Relatively cheap parking nearby in a large garage on Cumberland, which charges by the half-hour. $9 gave us enough time to take the carriage ride, walk the neighborhood a bit, browse the stalls on Market St., and eat lunch on Meeting St..

“Wonderful tour”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

My hubby and I had taken one of these carriage rides about 10 yrs. ago but we really liked the Classic Carriage Co. and will stay with them from now on. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining and was kind to the percheron pulling our carriage. We heard a lot of history which our family enjoys. We luckily got the tour that went by the battery and it was wonderful, Charleston is so beautiful with all the crepe myrtles blooming and the streets are so clean. Would definitely recommend for all to enjoy.
