“Amazing service and food”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

This was my first time visiting Vincent Chicos and it was amazing!!! The waiter was so kind and informative on the dishes. The food was sooooo good. I had the tomato bisque for an appetizer and the lamb tagliatelle which I can't get enough of. I am definitely going back!!!

“Some of the BEST Italian we have ever had...”
Reviewed 23 July 2014

We stumbled on this place on Memorial Day weekend, quite by accident. The other restaurants in the "alley" were booked, so we thought we would give them a try. We were seated outside and promptly accommodated. The meal was spectacular!

We chose to come back for our 30th wedding anniversary this time. Once again, we were treated like royalty. We started the evening with champagne. We ordered the bruchetta as an appetizer. Then we both ordered the veal piccata...again. Yes, it was THAT GOOD the first time we got it (in May) that we had to get it again. The combination of the capers and the wine sauce leaves an impression in your mind that keeps you wanting more! And then the chocolate creme brulee...

Amazing night for many reasons, and Vincent Chicco's made it even more special!

“Great Experience”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

What a great place for a special occasion, couples night, or impressing friends from out of town! The atmosphere is nice with a spiral staircase leading to a second floor for busy nights or special events. It is not your typical, red sauce, spaghetti and meatballs establishment. (not that there is anything wrong with that). It is not a big menu because everything is made to order. There is a decent list of wine and beer.
Before appetizers or your dinner they start you out with warm bread and olive oil.
There were 5 of us for dinner and no one was disappointed with dinner or dessert. Check out the menu and pix on line. Service was very good. Kevin was our waiter.
For people unfamiliar with the area the address is 36-39 John St. but you have to turn into Hutson Alley to find the restaurant.
Adjoining the restaurant is the cozy and relaxing social club where you can kick back before or after dinner and have a drink. Its a great area with a bunch of dining options.

“Quiet Sunday night”
Reviewed 14 July 2014 via mobile

This was our final evening in charleston and we were looking for fresh shrimp. Vincent Chicco's had the perfect fresh pasta, fresh tomatoes, fresh scampi dish called spaghetti con gamberoni. The pomdoro dish on the other hand was only average. The wait staff attentive but this was an unusually slow evening. I would return here in the future.

“I hope our experience was a rare exception!”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

I have lived in Charleston for over 20 years and always been a fan of 39 Rue de Jean and other Holy City Hospitality restaurants. However, the experience 4 of us had at Vincent Chicco's last weekend was extremely disappointing on a variety of levels. The food was barely worthy of Olive Garden status, service extremely slow and menu limited. I don't know if it was his first night or he was just having a bad day, but our server was clumsy, untimely and unknowledgeable. He had zero knowledge about the menu and even confused my date's request for a dish with red sauce and advisied her to order the Carbonara which of course is made with a creamy white sauce. Somehow, he also managed to bring me a plate of spaghetti & meatballs when I ordered the spaghetti with shrimp in a garlic and white wine sauce. He could not tell one of our other guests what the daily vegetable plate was nor could he manage to open our bottle of wine beside the table easily. We literally left the restaurant shaking our heads at how bad it all was. Even more disappointing that no manager approached us to offer anything to compensate the experience we were having. Again, I hope this was a rare night for the sake of the Group's investment in this place, but I will not return. There are just too many amazing options in Charleston now to patronize sub-par restaurants.
