“Weekend Trip for 12 women!”
Reviewed 12 January 2016 for a stay in January 2016

Twelve women with ages ranging from 19 - 80 traveled from Colorado, New York, Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky and North Carolina to celebrate an 80th birthday. We chose this house after reading the great reviews on HomeAway. We can't wait to come back to Charleston and will hopefully be able to stay in this home again. The online photos do not do it justice. When you pull up to the house, it looks very small. What a surprise when you open that front door! Every room is beautifully decorated. The kitchen and bathrooms were well equipped with everything we could possibly need. The kitchen/family room/dining room are one big open area that encouraged lots of togetherness! Loved the pool area as well. Unfortunately it was cold and rainy a couple of days so we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. The location is near several grocery stores, and we found a Pure Barre studio and were able to fit in a workout. We visited downtown Charleston, Sullivan Beach, Isle of Palms, Middleton Plantation, and Folly Beach, all very easy to get to from this house. We can't wait to visit again!

“Charleston in the Rain”

We are a group of 9 long time friends who decided 1 year ago to visit Charleston. This beautiful house was filled with Southern charm and kept us dry and comfortable during record setting rainfall and a near miss by Hurricane Joaquin.
It was as lovely as pictured, beautifully furnished with paintings by local artists throughout. We loved the front porch with its rockers, joggling bench and Diddle the cat who greeted us so happily every morning.
The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare a few meals (and clean up!). The dining table was awesome, big enough for all of us to sit comfortably for meals and then to play games during a late night rainstorm.
The large bedrooms were spacious and had the most comfortable beds and pillows and bed linens. Big closets kept our luggage organized and out of sight. We slept late every day!
We did not get to enjoy the back yard and pool due to the weather, but it looked inviting and we were sorry that we could not get out. We were able to have coffee on the covered back porch every morning and those who slept late were able to have a little more quiet time as we giggled outside.
The landscaping was so pretty, I can only imagine how amazing it looks when all the azaleas are blooming!
The house was very convenient to shopping, movies, and driving into the city. The owners were very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, and the hundreds of questions that a group of 9 women can think to ask.
It was the perfect place for us to stay. We will visit again when the sun is shining!

“Oasis”
Reviewed 26 September 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This property is beautiful, just as the pictures represent. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked, the house was immaculate and the beds were so comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed! Having a washer and dryer was so convenient. I must say that opening the back door, going through the wonderful screened in porch and walking out onto the back porch was like looking at an oasis! The beauty was breathtaking! The landscaping incredibly beautiful! I would, beyond any doubt, recommend this place to a friend! I also hope to be able to stay there again myself!

We think our house is an oasis too! Very few rentals sit on acre which gives guests extra space. And as you noticed, we strive for cleanliness, and also comfort. Come back again. Thank you.

This beautiful home was perfect for our four families' visit to Charleston in October. It's exactly as pictured and better than described. We found it conveniently located to the downtown, water, airport and sites, yet sufficient tucked away for quiet family times. Our hosts couldn't have done more for us. They were on the spot when we encountered a coffee pot problem (which was user induced), but otherwise stayed out of our way. I received great kudos from our group for finding such a gem for our stay. We were the envy of others in our group who stayed elsewhere. You can expect more visitors from Michigan, Massachusetts and Montana.

“Fantastic house and very accommodating owners!”

This fantastic house was a perfect place for several members of our family to stay during the weekend of our daughters wedding in Charleston!. The rooms were perfect for entertaining and meeting the family of our future son-in-law. This large house with a long wide hall allowed us to visit in the back of the house during the party and yet have quick access to the front of the house where the kitchen and den are. The entire house is beautifully decorated. The front of the house, the porch at the back of the house, and the area around the salt water pool provided wonderful areas for spreading out and giving us wide areas for chatting easily with family and new friends.

There are several grocery stores nearby. It was nice to purchase specialty foods at Trader Joe's and Whole Foods. But, I was especially thrilled to find the Publix grocery store. We were running out of time as we prepared for the wedding. Publix was very easy for us to check off items from our grocery list because we are familiar with that store. Also, another plus is that Charleston is very close to Mt Pleasant. Of course, that was a wonderful destination for "good eats" in excellent restaurants.

We enjoyed a terrific weekend and much of that was because of this beautiful, very livable house that we rented. It truly is an exceptional rental! As a bonus the owners are extremely accommodating. Our family has rented homes several times in the past, however, we have never had an owner meet us upon our arrival. George was very informative. He took the time to explain what was in each room, the pool area, kitchen, etc. Everything that we needed to know, regarding the house, he took the time to talk to us about. We were late and it was so helpful that he met us. Both George and his wife, Laurie, were so nice and always efficient as they worked with us. Rent this home and......ENJOY!

“Pictures don't do it justice!”
Reviewed 22 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

The pictures truly do not do this house justice! The owner let us know that it was recently remodeled in May, and it is beautiful! Truly, the furniture and decor make it feel like a full time house! The paintings throughout the house are so beautiful-- especially the one in the bedroom across from the master... It is a marvelous painting of a Charleston plantation driveway lined with what I think are oak trees.

We didn't have a car the first day, but since Uber came to Charleston, we hardly needed one. There is a Harris Teeter, Starbucks, yoga studio, and PureBarre relatively close, and it even makes for a nice walk if you're open!
You're provided with more than enough towels, clean sheets, and plenty of toilet paper, and as I said above, the grocery store is close.

The beds were amazing! My whole party (myself included) could not stop ranting and raving about how comfortable they are... It feels like you're sleeping on a cloud. I was truly tempted to lift up the mattress and see what brand they were (Alas! Coulda, shoulda, woulda...)

The kitchen comes with more than enough pots and pans to feed a family of 12, and there is a Keurig for making coffee in the morning-- as well as a teapot for those who prefer tea.

The back of the house was amazing! The screened porch was truly a treat. There's also a bar-b-q grill on the back porch that comes with propane all ready to be used! The saltwater pool was awesome! The pool is much deeper than it looks, and it's fabulous because the seating and floor of the pool is smooth, so you don't get pills on your bathing suit when you sit! There was enough seating for everyone and then some, and the best part is that if you're a remote worker, the wifi reaches out to where the pool is... Truly a treat!

The neighborhood was a little bit sketchy at night, but as long as you don't go wandering around alone, it's fine! And for the price + the actual house, it's definitely worth a tiny trade off.

Overall, I had an absolutely fabulous experience, and I know the rest of my crew did too. Thank you, Laurie and George, for a wonderful weekend and for sharing your beautiful house with us!

“Comfy House”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We stayed at the Trust House for our family vacation. When we booked the house it was not done. We read the reviews of the other house Laurie and George own and saw all the glowing reviews. We trusted that they would have the Trust house just as nice. We were not disappointed. George met us at the house and gave us a grand tour. We were off to a wedding at the Isle of Palm and George even volunteered to come back to unlock the house when our daughter and her family arrived later that evening. Laurie and George were very accommodating. Laurie answered every email promptly and George came quickly to take care of minor problems at the house. The brand new dryer was not working when we arrived but George had someone there on Monday to fix it. The mowing service blew grass and dirt into the pool and George came to clean it so we could use it that afternoon.

The location of the house was perfect for us. The grocery stores were close and Charleston was just a short drive away. We went into the city every day. What great restaurants they have. We didn't have a bad meal the whole week! We did make 3 evening meals at the house. My husband loved the grill. The ribs, filet and pork tenderloin came out really great! We were out every day visiting the sites during the hot 90 degree days. When we came back to the house it was always cool and comfortable-- very good cooling system. Of course when we came back the kids went into the salt water pool. What fun they had. And so relaxing! The pool was a BIG hit!

Another nice feature of this house is the flat screen TV's in every bedroom. We have never had that in all the other homes we rented. It is a very nice feature. If you needed space then you could get away from the group. Thanks George and Laurie for a very comfortable house!
