What a wonderful experience we had at Lavender and Lace. We were greeted by Judy, who was able to provide us with all kinds of information about this beautiful city. Our room was large and comfortable and the home made brownies that awaiting us were delicious. We would definately reccommend this B&B highly.

Our family of four which includes two young children visited Charleston for the first time this past Easter week and we stayed two days in the Front Garden Room. We walked everywhere, and the B&B is withing walking distance of most things and is located on a quiet historic street with offstreet parking (which I found out is very important in Charleston). Our host suggested restaurants which turned out to be just exactly what we were looking for, and steered us clear of the restaurants to avoid. She got us started with a map and other ideas about what we might like to do and see with two kids - very helpful.

Our unit had a kitchenette and it was stocked with breakfast items and fresh fruit. Having a quick breakfast at our convenience worked well for us because we were so on-the-go. And it's always great to have a kitchen when you have kids. We had plenty of room, actually it was like having our own little apartment with a private entrance.

Our accomodation was very clean, and we rested well. We would definitely consider staying in the same unit again, and look forward to visiting with our host.

We (my boyfriend and I) planned an extended trip to S.C. and were we pleased! His daughter was married on a Saturday in Charlotte; so, needless to point out that we were both a bit frazzled and ready for some r & r. We drove the two hundred or so miles to Charleston to stay at Lavender and Lace. There, we found the best b & b in which we have ever stayed, which to this point numbers around ten or so in places as varied as Pacific Grove, CA to KC to Sedona.
First of all, let me point out that Charleston is beautiful; the experience was a little unexpected. Judy's b & b is situated right where one would want to live in Charleston, nevermind to stay while visiting a couple of days. Her place has three units available, but I can only recommend (whole-heartedly, by the way) the carriage house, because it is where we stayed. It is two stories tall with secluded and spacious bath/bedroom on the second floor. The first floor consists of a sitting area WITH A WASHER & DRYER and a kitchen that includes all major appliances and breakfast area. She provides ample--free--off-street parking, and her property lies within walking distance of everything one would wish to see in Charleston. And if you're a little lazy, as we were after the harried wedding, Judy provides bicycles which we found just a little bit awesome. All in all, zero complaints...lovely everything...will be back. Oh, and there were fresh and copious quantities of fruit and baked goods provided daily.
LOVE THIS PLACE!

We have stayed at many B and B's over the years and Lavender and Lace is by far our favorate. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted immediately by the most friendly and knowledgeable host who was able to answer all of our questions reguarding where to eat, the best tours to take (and avoid), and how to get around (including the bicycles that are provided on property for her guests). The rooms were extremely clean and well stocked with all of the amenities of home, and the homeade baked goods were delicious!! We also loved the location. It is in a very safe neighborhood and everything is within walking distance of this great B and B, the location is perfect for downtown shopping, walking along the river/parks or just strolling down the quaint little sidestreets and night. All in all, we give Lavender and Lave two thumbs up and cannot wait to return for another visit.

My husband and I are eager to return to Charleston. When we do, we are equally eager to return to Lavender and Lace. Interestingly our reasons are the very antithesis to those posted by Never to Return.

I am highly allergic to cats. I cannot stay anywhere near them without my eyes becoming swollen and my nose getting stuffy. I can no longer stay at my children's homes because they are cat owners. I had no indication whatsoever cats were anywhere on the premises until I read that one review mentioning them. Lavender and Lace was immaculate and free of any cat odor; my allergies would have immediately told me if the situation were otherwise.

We traveled at what is considered a major holiday time in Charleston: The Southeastern Wildlife Exposition. There are more tourists in town this weekend than at any other time the entire year. The Inn Keeper's demeanor was completely welcoming. She struck the perfect balance between providing information and being respectful of our privacy. Never once did we feel we were in her way or vice versa.

Her attention to detail was outstanding. Everything from bandaids to needle and thread was there without our having to ask. Anything we might have left behind was anticipated and provided. Her knowledge of sites to see and restaurants to dine was equally superb. We particularly enjoyed our experience at High Cotton.

We observed The Inn Keeper to be a person who cared greatly about the well being of her guests. Thus the only thing in Never to Return's letter that did not come as a surprise was the part about the offer to refund payment. Her sincere desire to provide the proverbial "100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back " would naturally lead to such an offer. For Never to Return to believe dishonesty was the reason is completely unwarranted from our experience.

There are always two sides to every story. In this case, everything we saw, smelled, and experienced tips the benefit of the doubt to The Inn Keeper.

We highly recommend a stay at Lavender and Lace whether or not you are allergic to cats because they never surfaced as a factor. We recommend it whether or not you are traveling at a holiday time because we had the undivided attention of The Inn Keeper despite it being the busiest time of the year in Charleston. We recommend it because it is a meticulously maintained and well-located accommodation with an equally accommodating owner.
