The longer we stayed - a week - the more we realized the great location and amenities this Inn has to offer. Sparkling clean, great service - a real professional establishment. It's located in the historic district very close to the market with easy access to the freeway to the plantations and beaches.

The clean, well appointed, large rooms would be enough to give this hotel a five star rating, but the helpful kind and just plain nice staff really put it into another place. I would like to single out, Alex and Johnnie as to individuals who went way beyond being helpful to make our stay exceptional. Each room has a safe, microwave and refrigerator the bathrooms are large and well lit, and fairly spacious. The location is a short walk to restaurants and shopping. The hotel serves breakfast and has an onsite pub, and has parking included in the cost of the room. There is ongoing construction next to the hotel so if you are not an early riser, or you don't like hammering as an alarm clock request a room on the side opposite the construction, our request was granted with no problem.

Room Tip: Request a room away from the construction, we did and it was quiet.

This is a great hotel in the heart of the French Quarter in Charleston, SC. We stayed four nights based on TA reviews. The area is terrific - the front desk and all of the employees are great - the rooms are very large and spotless. The only single negative that keeps me from awarding a 5 is that the walls are thin. You can hear showers next door and people talking. Fortunately the people on both sides of us were not up late and did not get up early. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that does not face Meeting Street.

Well located, great staff! Free parking. They have pre-made driving destination cards when you ask for directions. We didn't take the car for 3 days because we were at walking distance of about everything. There is a Harris Teeter grocery stores next to the hotel (5 minute distance walk).

We spent the week of August 17th at the King Charles Inn in celebration of our 45 anniversary. Overall a wonderful positive experience. We looked for a place that was pretty much central to everything in Charleston, that was of fair value, had its own pool & parking area, with a friendly helpful staff and we found it all at the King Charles Inn. Our Deluxe King room was spotless and spacious, with a comfortable king bed, large screen TV, etc as others have described. The bathroom was spacious also with plenty of hot water and fresh clean towels. The WiFi in the room worked perfectly. The large sized in room safe was nice to have. This room had a balcony which we did not use since it was 98 degrees with matching humidity everyday of our stay. We ate breakfast in the Brew Pub each day and the food was good. I loved the King's Classic. You can eat outside on the patio overlooking the pool. The pool & pool area was always clean. This particular week, Charleston was breaking heat records so having the pool to cool off after a day of touring was great to have. Although the hotel was pretty much full, the pool was never busy. The hotel staff were all wonderful to us in that they all asked how our day was going. Front desk was always willing to assist with tours and suggestions on restaurants. One evening I asked Jessica if she had a choice which restaurant would she go to and she said 82 Queen. We had a fantastic dinner there. She and a women who was training at the front desk made arrangements for a tour of the Magnolia Plantation via Charleston Tours and that turned out to be excellent. The hotel was easy walking distance to the Visitors Center, the Aquarium, the Market Street & King Street shopping areas, the Water Taxi to Patriots Point, The Spirit of the Low County to Ft Sumter, to name a few. There are many restaurants nearby. Across the street, Justine's & FIG, half a block: Hyman's Seafood. Best restaurant experiences we had during our stay was 82 Queen, Berwell's for the most unbelievable steak and Eli's Tavern. We never used the car during our stay. It remained under the building out of the sun the entire time we were there. Kudos to Maureen Sheridan, general manger and all of her staff at the KCI for making this a memorable anniversary vacation. We will return ( in cooler weather).

You were certainly right about the weather, we broke all heat and humidity records during your visit! However, I am glad to hear the King Charles Inn was "cool" enough for you and we were able to exceed your expectations! Again, Happy Anniversary and we hope you celebrate every year with us! Thank you for the nice review!

We just returned from a great week in Charleston. I can't say enough good things about the staff and the hotel stay. Our rooms were nice and very clean. The staff was very friendly and knowledgable about the area. Kudos to the staff in the lounge area. We ate breakfast there every morning and night caps in the evening. Housekeeping did a super job. Front desk even set up our cab home. Thanks everyone for a great week. See you again.

I only stayed briefly for business but based on the visit I don't think I would make a second trip. The hotel was fine but the room was dusty behind the bed (I wasn't looking but the way the beds are, it was hard not to see) and I saw a thousand legger. Not the worst experience but could have been better.
