Indigo Inn is kind of a cross between a small hotel and a large B & B. B & B furnishings and ambiance but a considerable number of rooms. A beautiful courtyard where you can enjoy breakfast in the morning and wine with appetizers in the afternoon. It sits right in the middle of everything downtown and is a short walk to the market and the restaurants. I'm not sure what the very expensive hotels are like but the price here was most reasonable, especially in comparison to many downtown hotels. The front desk staff was most helpful and hospitable. A very pleasant stay at a reasonable price.

Indigo Inn is a nice restored hotel with a very pleasant staff and in a perfect location for seeing all the main sights of Charleston. Rooms are nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast is available and can be eaten in a lovely courtyard. Parking is onsite.

The Indigo Inn is a great hotel in a great location! The rooms were clean and the afternoon wine and cheese receptions in the afternoons were nice. We also enjoyed sitting in the courtyard. It is a nice place to have coffee in the morning, wine and cheese in the afternoon, and then wind down in the evening. We will recommend this hotel to others and will be sure to stay at the Indigo Inn the next time we are in Charleston.

We really enjoyed our stay - I was travelling with 3 other women & we were able to get rooms with 2 double beds in each - plenty of parking too. The rooms were comfortable & clean - the staff was courteous & extremely helpful. The Charleston Market, Waterfront Park, carriage tours, restaurants & many more sites were all within walking distance. The breakfast & afternoon wine & cheese were good. The only negative thing I have to say is that although they have a lovely courtyard it can't be used in the rain & it's uncomfortable when it's hot & humid. That being said we had a wonderful time & would go back to the Indigo Inn.

Thank you for your comments and recommendations!!! I am sorry that you were not able to enjoy the courtyard on this trip, but maybe on future visits the weather will be more conducive for courtyard use.

If you want to be in the heart of the city within walking distance to just about everything, this is a great place to stay. Rooms are small with dated furnishings, but clean and adequate if you are not spending a lot of time there. Wine and cheese in the early evening is a nice touch and the breakfast is ok. Personnel is very friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed at the Indigo Inn and enjoyed our stay. The staff was extremely hospitable and friendly. Our room was comfortable, had free WiFi and a lot of dresser space. The courtyard is a beautiful spot to enjoy your complimentary breakfast in the mornings and the wine and snacks in the afternoon/evening. We were within a 5-10 minute walk of anything we wanted to explore. I would recommend as a good value for the cost.
