Just spent the weekend in Charleston for our one year anniversary and I booked this hotel due to location and price. It was a holiday weekend and don't think we could have gotten a better deal. As others have mentioned they had a great wine & cheese happy hour as well as breakfast which was more than enough to satisfy us before and after the beach. Then we'd get ready and head out directly downtown Charleston. Rooms were spacious and clean, and bed was comfortable. We didn't ask for recommendations as we've been to Charleston plenty, but the front desk was more than willing to assist if we did. I will look here first next time I'm trying to book a weekend get away!

Room Tip: Would ask for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor so there's a little more privacy. The first floor opens up to the patio where a lot of guests enjoyed their breakfast.

We chose Indigo Inn based on Trip Advisor recommendations and reasonable price.
Very friendly and helpful staff, very convenient location in the city close to the Market, carriage rides and, if you like to walk, near every downtown attraction.
Affordable, very nice breakfasts and afternoon wine and snacks. Not much to look at from the street, but the rooms are fantastic. The courtyard is truly a pleasant surprise.
When we come back to Charleston we will definitely stay here again.

Chose this place based on the right mix of Tripadvisor recommendations and price. A very good experience in every respect.

Location:
- Right in downtown Charleston, you are within a comfortable walk of all the sights on the peninsula and have easy highway access if you're driving out of town

Rooms:
- Pleasant rooms, sort of a more matronly or old-fashioned style than I would personally prefer, but that is what one gets at an old-fashioned smaller hotel so not complaining. Quite spacious with couch and lounge chair. Nice four-post King Bed. Very quiet other than some highly active children in the morning (not really the hotel's fault).

Common Areas:
- Lovely inner courtyard which is perhaps the hotel's unique distinguishing factor. Feels like a real island in what is a more developed (as developed as Charleston gets anyway) part of town.

Other amenities:
- Free Continental breakfast in the morning (we missed it both days so can't comment on the quality but it looked good)
- Reasonably priced parking with ample space ($11/day)

Service:
- Top notch service was the best part of the stay - Stay was responsive with maps, recommendations, bell service, etc. When we were leaving they called us a cab and even loaded our bags into the cab while we were out. Greatly appreciated the effort.

For less than $200/night you are not going to find a better hotel in a tourist-friendly location in most any other city I've visited. Would stay again and recommend to others.

Room Tip: The rooms at the end opposite the lobby are on Meeting Street (busy) and thus don't have windows to keep the noise down.

We found this place at the last minute when our plans changed and we were being our dog. They only had one pet friendly room left and it was a queen with a pull out sofa. After we got there and checked in the manager came out to our car while we unloaded and switched us to a room with two queens. Not sure if the room was dog friendly. The front desk was helpful with giving us places to see and also to eat at. Downtown, the French Quarter, and water were all within walking distance. Only was there for one night but will definitely look them up next time we go.

This delightful inn ticks off everything you would want when visiting the enchanting city of Charleston. For years we have been returning, not only because they allow pets but because every other aspect of this open-courtyard inn is delightful. The four poster beds are delicious, the location can't be beat and the breakfast in the morning is a treat! We return almost yearly to Charleston on our summer drive down the coast, and there really is nowhere else we would consider staying! Look forward to my return. :)
