We stayed at the Creekside Lands Inn over the weekend. Our friends were getting married on Kiawah Island and we weren't interested in paying $150+/night for a hotel room. I found this hotel through priceline for $79/night. You can't beat the value of this hotel in the area.
The Cons: We were given a non-smoking room, but clearly someone has smoked in here at some point because it smelled like smoke when we first walked in. The pillows were small, but they give you 5 for a king bed. The tv is annoying: whenever you turn it on it goes to channel 49 and you have to manually change it to channel 3 to get a picture. The remote only works once the tv has been turned on and the channel changed, both manually on the tv. The microfridge is a good idea, but there aren't enough outlets on the wall with the tv to be using the fridge and microwave all at the same time. I had to unplug the tv to heat up something in the microwave. My only complaint about the bathroom is that it's small. The clothes rack is on the same side as the hair dryer, so there isn't much space to get ready. I wasn't sure what to expect in the area of housekeeping.
The Pros: Good location. The hotel really is creekside, in fact they have a gazebo that overlooks the creek that has a nice afternoon breeze. We didn't go to the pool but it looks clean. The continental breakfast was a typical continental breakfast: coffee, juice, milk, packets of oatmeal, grits, danishes, muffins, cereal, biscuits and gravy. Good value place, especially for a family with small children. And they are pet friendly.
