“Great Experience!”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

Good room, fair prices, great breakfast and the wine reception every night at 5pm is a lot of fun! The staff was awesome - especially Darren! He makes the whole trip worthwhile. As for location - excellent. Park your car in their lot and walk to whatever you want to see. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

I have been coming here for 12 years on business and pleasure. The rooms are very nicely appointed as ids the lobby. The lobby is the scene for a full breakfast every morning. Fruit, yogurt, pastries, local baked breads and a hot dish, sometimes egg casserole other time shrimp and grits or country ham and biscuits. In the evening it's wine and cheese, all included in the stay price.
The staff is excellent and unobtrusive, definitely a southern treasure

Room Tip: Perfect access to downtown Charleston. Park and forget about driving, just walk everywhere, very con...

This was our first stay at Meeting Street Inn, but definitely won't be our last. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Rooms were lovely and very clean. The breakfast was wonderful with a wide assortment of foods (loved the fresh strawberries). In the evening they serve a wine and cheese reception. Everything was delicious. Staying here was like stepping back into history. Located in the center of the historic district is great for walking to city market, battery, the many restaurants and all the beautiful home. Parking was a couple blocks away, but that is not unusual for hotels in this city. Thanks staff at Meeting Street Inn for a lovely stay.

If Charleston is your destination and Southern charm, perfect location and great service are important, then this is the place to be......the whole package!!
Rooms are period beautiful and everything from the generous and tasty high variety breakfast to the bedding has been well thought of so you don't have to oh, did I forget to say the complimentary happy hour was always a charming destination to meet a few new friends and ponder dinner plans?
Special thanks to a young man named Mario who seemed to always be in the right place to help with an authentic smile.....if he is not part of the host staff, he should be as he defines service from the heart. The single draw back in all retro-fit period places is the air conditioning which make more noise than my sleep wants however the alternative is much worse! Thanks Meeting Inn.

We stumbled upon this place in our desperate search to find something for the night after checking in and promptly checking OUT of the hotel we had originally booked elsewhere. The Meeting Street Inn offered us a great rate with parking AND breakfast plus the do a nice wine and cheese at 5pm each day in their lobby/courtyard. The whole building is very charming and historic. Even though the rooms have an old fashioned feel, they have modern amenities (unlike some B&Bs). The staff were all very friendly and we enjoyed our stay here immensely.

This combination of a hotel/B & B is located perfectly in the historic district in charming Charleston. You're just a few steps away from the city market, lots of great restaurants and you're nestled right in the historic district. Because of the design of the hotel in classic Charleston style, you almost think you're staying in one of the historic homes in the area. The rooms feature four poster beds, which is so Charleston and adds to the charm of the inn. The courtyard with a trickling fountain is a lovely spot to enjoy breakfast in the morning before you start your day or wine and cheese before dinner. The delicious daily breakfast was way beyond a continental breakfast and featured somewhat varied menus each day. When coming back to the hotel to get ready for dinner, it's a treat to be offered wine and cheese. This is my second stay at The Meeting Street Inn, the first 16 years ago. It doesn't appear the hotel changed very much at all in that time. It could use just a bit of fluffing up in some areas, but it's still very charming and the staff is very hospitable in true Southern style. My only complaint is that the air conditioner kept starting and stopping, which is a bit disturbing to sleep. The hotel doesn't have a pool, but I wouldn't necessarily expect one in the historic district. If you like a B & B, but can't convince your husband to stay at one or you don't want to pay B & B rates, this is the perfect compromise. It has the charm and appeal of a B & B and combines that appeal as an inn. And, I can't say enough about the great location to easily go back and forth to drop off treasures bought at the market across the street or to put your feet up for a few minutes. This inn is a Charleston Charmer!

This was an exceptional hotel. Modeled (or it may have been at one time) after the single house concept popular in Charleston architecture, this four story inn has a variety of room styles to meet different needs. The rooms were beautifully decorated with poster beds. I wondered about the bathrooms (a pet peeve of mine), but found updated facilities beautifully appointed with great quality linens. Another concern not going with a brand name was the mattress comfort. The mattress was wonderful and provided blissful comfort as we slept. The morning breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese reception were both delicious and a welcome start and evening break from the activities all around. The hotel is located steps from the market and dining options abound. You can easily walk to area attractions and see downtown Charleston at your leisure with your inn oasis never too far away for a brief rest or break. It is a beautiful property that employs staff who are helpful and friendly. Do you need to know where to find something or need a ride somewhere? Just ask! They work diligently to offer customer service that is on par with much higher priced accommodations. This is an inn that truly offers the best of southern hospitality and Charleston charm! There is no pool or onsite parking, but the parking provided in a short stroll away and they offer transportation back and forth if needed. We were so busy touring that the lack of pool was not an issue. There is a hot tub that we did not use, but seemed nice.
