An Inn on York Street
Ranked #1 of 3 Chester B&B and Inns
Reviewed 7 March 2014

I arranged a two night stay at An Inn on York Street as a surprise get away for my husband. We had a wonderful stay. The house is fabulous, the Hemingway room luxurious and filled with all the items necessary for a comfortable stay to include Hermes soap, shampoo and conditioner -- HERMES!!!! :o) Quite the unexpected treat!! Our stay included a three course breakfast that was to die for. Not only was the food superb and the service impeccable but, our conversations with Mark and Sandy were very interesting and enjoyable.

We only made the trip in order to enjoy the B&B so, we weren't interested in the area activities; however; we did enjoy a visit to nearby Brattonsville Historic Site and a day trip to explore the Charlotte, NC area.

Our trip was a truly wonderful experience and we look forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Hemingway room which is on the front right of the upstairs floor. We had windows o...

We had a wonderful stay... The house was georgeous, the rooms comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the conversations with the other couples we met there entertaining! There's not too much to do in the city of Chester, but Charlotte, NC, was an easy drive that offered lots to do during the day and evening... We would love to visit again!

We received a weekend getaway from our parents to a place we never knew existed! The rooms were comfortable and historic, the house was well kept and absolutely beautiful inside and out. We were only 45 minutes from Charlotte, NC which was great! Mark is such a great host and his wife Sandie is an incredible chef! Breakfast was served every morning promptly at 9 a.m. and definitely worth getting up for! I couldn't have hand picked this Inn any better myself.

My wife and I were given a weekend here as a gift from some friends, and came here just looking to get away from the normal routine. Our stay was just perfect - Mark and Sandie are outstanding hosts. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and cozy, and their three-course breakfasts (served at 0900) were absolutely delicious. They really foster a welcoming atmosphere and get to know guests and encourage a more social atmosphere. There was another young couple staying at the time, and we had a great time meeting them. Chester itself is very small and quaint; we weren't really interested in exploring the history and museums, but the other guests enjoyed doing that. It is a short distance from Rock Hill, Charlotte, and Columbia, which makes the Inn on York Street an ideal location from which to travel to those cities for day trips. I cannot recommend this B&B enough!

Mark and Sandie are exceptional hosts and the breakfasts are superb! This weekend was our second trip to this beautiful B&B and it definitely won't be our last! In fact, we can't wait until the next time we are able to visit. Mark and Sandie go out of their way to make sure everything about the stay is wonderful. I can't recommend this B&B enough! We love it!!!

Room Tip: We have stayed in the Mark Twain and the Ernest Hemingway. All of the rooms are wonderful and I wou...
