“My New Favorite Restaurant in Columbia, SC!”
Reviewed 12 December 2013

Since my first visit in October, I keep finding myself looking for reasons to go back to Rioz. I was immediately impressed by the friendliness of the waitstaff and of course the enormous "salad" bar. The salad bar actually consists of several fine cheeses, prosciutto, sushi, chicken salad, shrimp, beans, rice and more. Once seated, the gauchos came one after another with perfectly cooked meat and delicious cinnamon pineapple. The polenta is some of the best I have ever had at a restaurant and the plantains are also quite tasty. This place will not disappoint by any means. The food, staff, decor and atmosphere are all top-notch. I will definitely be returning to Rioz as often as my budget allows!

“Great food - Loud !”
Reviewed 8 December 2013

Attractive place, but tables are close together, and wow, it was loud in there - 10 of 10 on any noise scale. That said - the food was great. Really good salad bar - one could easily have a big and very satisfying meal with that alone - which is available, at a much reduced price. Cheerful servers. The little cheesy rolls/ biscuits were very tasty, as were the sides that they bring to the table before the meats. Very good meats - especially the house special sirloin steak. Nice little wine list, with many offerings by the glass or carafe. The Caparainha ( Spelling?) cocktail cart was a nice touch - a really good cocktail prepared at tableside. Desserts were also very, very good - if you could possibly eat anything more after this feast. A good time. Bring earplugs.

“Great food and service!”
Reviewed 5 December 2013 via mobile

Was recommended this Brazilian steakhouse by our bartender at lunch. What a great place! Salad bar was super fresh which included sushi. A little outside the box for this concept but a great addition! All meats brought to the table were hot and seasoned perfectly. The partner also made it a point to stop by and chat. As restaurant people we were very impressed with the service and food. Don't miss this one!

“A Delightful Surprise”
Reviewed 3 December 2013

Who would think that on an overnight stay to break up a trip from Florida to North Carolina, we would have fallen into one of the best dinners we have had in a long time. Close to the hotel, we stumbled on Rioz. For a fixed price of $20.00 you were treated to a beautiful salad buffet which included fresh shrimp and sushi, along with the usual salad fixings and soup, not to mention the wonderful selection of cheeses and meats. For another $12.00, the experience included unlimited at-the-table hand-cut beef, poultry, pork and lamb. They also brought a hand-sliced fried pineapple that was out of this world. The lamb chops were the best I have had in a very long time. The servers were constantly coming by the table with meat offerings. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. Not that any of our party of six needed dessert, we ordered crème brulee and a flan to share. Since we had a birthday at our table, they also brought a piece of chocolate cake which was so moist and delicious, I still dream about it.

“Service, service, and more service. Oh, and excellent food!”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

I have been to many Brazilian steakhouses, from Philly to NY to Burlington VT. But this one easily tops them all. First, it's $32.50. How does the Texas Roadhouse next door do any business? And for that you have unlimited meats and access to an incredible salad bar. If if you don't want meat, for $20 you get the salad bar, which has everything from beat salad, artichoke salad, bean salad, mushroom salad, soup, breads, shrimp, and too many other things to name. Also take note in between the salad bar. They look like glass carvings of large fruits. We asked one of our servers and they are ice carvings done daily. Pretty incredible looking.

With the meal the server also brings this delicious garlicky bread, fried cinnamon bananas (yum!), mashed potatoes (just ok), and some sort of corn bread (so-so). I generally waited out for the prime sirloin, filet mignon, or the bacon wrapped filet mignon meats. They also have a fried type fresh pineapple to choose from which was great,

We ordered the creme brulee and flan for dessert. They have a dessert cart so you can see all the choices first hand. The creme brulee was excellent, the flan decent.

And the service. Wow. We didn't even know who our server was! Usually a bad thing. But in this case a good thing. People were always coming by to refill drinks, bread, banana plate, etc. If you said no to the gauchos (guys with the meat running around restaurant) for whatever meat they had, they asked what you were waiting for, went back to the kitchen and another guy came out with that meat. Pretty incredible service for a busy Saturday night. You could also tell 1 or 2 managers were walking about asking how everything was and even clearing plates now and then.

Overall, great service, great food and exceptional value.
