Miyabi Kyoto is my all time favorite restaurant. First of all, the Sushi chef Rocky has been there since the place opened(he is actually Japanese LOL and still has a strong accent). He is a super nice guy and and GREAT at what he does. The Sushit at Miyabi's is not the cheapest in town, but why even eat sushi if its not good sushi? I have eaten at "reasonable" sushi places and if you're are eating B or C grade sushi, its just not worth it to me.
HIBACHI! The Hibachi at Miyabi Kyoto is absolutely second to none. I have never had a better food/dining experience at any other Jap Steakhouse in any of the other 6 states I have lived in. The chefs are very funny and can cook like its nobodies business. The ingredients they use are very fresh. I recomend spending some money and getting a Shogun with some Filet, Jumbo Shrimp, and Chicken. Get the Filet Rare so that you can enjoy the quality of the meat. It is excellent. The rice portions are MUCH larger than anyone elses and the vegetable are just a simple grilled zuccini and onions which the the ONLY way to do it.
You can bet when I get back to Columbia in April this will be the first place I eat. If you do it like I do it.... For 2 people, dinner, with Hot Sake, Chambord, and a few cocktails, with some Sushi, you will drop over $100 without looking but its well worth it if you are doing it up.
