Don't let the exterior deter you.... this place is great! Once inside, the staff is very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Last time we visited, it was my husband's birthday. Our server added a candle to his dessert without me even asking - she was very sweet. We have eaten off-the-menu sushi, sushi bar specials, and cooked items from the menu and have never had a bad bite. It's the best sushi we've found around Columbia after living here for two years.

Inakaya was recommended as a great place for sushi and it did not disappoint. I must admit I was a little concerned when we drove up to the place and found it in an "older" & "established" strip shopping center. The parking lot was packed, but don't be afraid - their neighbor in the center is a rent a car company and they have lots of cars there. We were immediately seated and the staff was attentive and helpful without being overbearing. We were seated at a table in the middle of the room, and while I usually don't like this type of seating, there was plenty of room and I didn't feel like our neighbors were in on our conversation like you do in many places. We ordered a Sushi for 2, which we found was perfect for us. It came with both a miso soup (one of the best I have ever had) and a salad which was fresh and crisp. The rolls, Sushi & sashimi were all very fresh and tasty.

From the outside, this tiny restaurant may not look like much however, the food speaks volumes. Some call it cozy while others say cramped. The place only has a few table & a medium size sushi bar but, it can boast 3 sushi masters & a great grill. The staff goes all out to make the customers feel welcomed. Will most definitely return.

best sushi in town. very nice rest. have visited many times, and have had a great experience every time.we normally get the "boat", which actually is a boat. the food comes out on a not so little boat. unless you want to take food home with you, dont order the boat, its more food than you can eat. the food is great too. the food on the boat is varied, you get sushi, tempora, seafood, teriyaki meats ect. this a really nice rest. and we always have a "great time".
