“Excellent meal...freah local ingredients”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

I have eaten at Tombo several times when I lived in Columbia. It is a local restaurant that has its menu designed with use of local in-season ingredients. I met friends and family there last Thursday night. Jake was the server. The staff has always been very attentive and informing. We tried several specials...the duck confit was served on grits with a mushroom sauce. Very tasty, moist and we loved the crispy outside. We also tried the Brunswick stew...again seasoned very well...really good comfort food. I had the heirloon tomato caprese salad and added grilled shrimp as my entrée. It was perfect...very nice presentation and the tomatoes were great...it is a "Charleston-style" salad served in restaurants there frequently and every bit as good. 2 of the party ordered the trout entrée special which was served on a black bean and tomato bed. Very large portions and again seasoning that popped. Wine flowed and we had a great total experience.

“Quite Well Done”
Reviewed 26 June 2014

Great food and Jake did a superb job on a busy night taking care of our table. Others worked with him to give super service. Drinks were refreshed and the food was great. This was my second visit and it was worth the drive from downtown to have such a great meal.

“Awesome atmosphere, even better food!”
Reviewed 17 March 2014

The food is amazing and fresh. It has a cozy and intimate feel. Alexis was my server and she was excellent, very funny and fast (and a hottie). It's my favorite place in Columbia and will be back next Monday for their $9 burger and beer special!

“Amazing”
Reviewed 31 January 2014

Tombo is by far one of the best dining experiences in Columbia and the creativity in every dish is evident in every bite. I started with the Bourbon Braised Short Ribs over fried risotto and it fell apart beautifully then had the Seared Scottish salmon over a jasmine rice sautee which they top with fried capers. The added texture was the perfect touch. Combined with a comprehensive wine and craft beer selection and a seasoned wait staff, Tombo Grille is a Columbia gem.
