The streetside menu is a bait and switch. Once inside, you get a very limited menu, heavily weighted to burgers and BBQ. No local beers or seafood. Even their decor belies their beers - huge Newcastle Brown mirror over the bar...but good luck ordering the Old Brown Dog. We tried to honor the seafood theme, but the shrimp and grits were awful (smothered with cheese sauce), tuna overcooked, watery mac and cheese, and tasteless crabcakes. The waiter promised to pay for any dish we didn't like (no surprise that he didn't honor this one...) Overall, they have a great location, but lack the ability to deliver tasty, southern food. Head up the road to Island Grill, where they know good food and music.

We were in Folly Beach for 4 nights and went to lunch and dinner at a different location each day and Folly Beach Shrimp Company had the the best food out of all of them! Seriously! And I'm pretty picky. I had the peel and eat shrimp and She Crab Soup, both were great!! My husband had the alfredo and he loved it! This is one of his favs so he knows when it's good or not! I tired it too and it was very yummy! My son got the mac and cheese which appeared to be home made, also very good! The service was quick and very friendly! No complaints at all. The price was right too! we spent the least amount of money at this restaurant, all of them are pretty pricey though. We went to a different restaurant the next night because we want to try as many as we could but my husband and I both agreed that we which we had gone back to Folly Beach Shrimp Company.

First, this review is real. This is our first day in Folly Beach. Eating fresh seafood was our only agenda. We happened to come across this restaurant and decided to eat here for dinner. .. mainly because the BBQ sandwich was not priced at $12 like the place across the street. We were immediately seated for a table of 5 outside on the porch and given our menus. Cute porch! Our waitress came out to greet us with a huge smile pretty quickly. After getting our drink order and appetizers, did I decide to read other reviews on TripAdvisor. Our first reaction was, should we run. BUT, we decided to stick it out. Boy are we happy with our decision! The food is delicious. My picky eater son loved his hamburger. On our dinner plates this evening is: alfredo (better than Olive Garden), low country boil, pulled pork and crab cakes. O.M.G. the crab cakes are superb! Side dishes included Bleu Cheese Slaw (yum), mac n cheese and fried grits.
Overall, our family recommends this restaurant. The service was quick, friendly, knowledgeable and
helpful. The food was delicious. Our only complaint is the shrimp want deveined. This is not a huge enough issue to keep us from coming back. Thank you for the warm welcome to Folly Beach.

Service was slow. Food was mediocre at best. We ordered the bacon crusted scallops as an appetizer. The scallops were overcooked and served with some kind of cold butter that can only be described as spreadable country crock. We ordered the seafood platters as entrees. Those weren't too bad but we ordered mac and cheese as a side item. Mac and cheese was literally just macaroni noodles sprinkled with cheddar cheese and warmed up on the microwave. The bill came out to $56 and we didn't order any drinks other than water! Definitely overpriced. Will not be going back. There a so many other great places to eat on folly beach

Bad food. Complained to management to to avail. Manager Adam seemed to care less that we spent over 150 dollars on dinner. Wanted to comp us a dessert but could not get out fast enough. Plus the trash dumpster is right behind the outdoor seeting. Go elsewhere on folly beach,Rita s is decent and so is the lost dog, snappers jack is so/so. I lived on folly for years and the food gets worse and worse as more folks come in. Try Roadside seafood on folly road , best seafood i hav25e had in years being a 25 year plus resident on johns island. Nothing compared unless you want to go to Hanks downtown. Grab a reservation.
