There are so many outstanding restaurants in Charleston and Folly Beach. The Sandbar is not one of them. It has a privileged location; looks funky and laid back; and could be something very special. It's not. It took 2 hours from start to finish. First, no table was available .. although 3 sat empty and 2 booths were dirty and unoccupied. A hour in the bar, where smoking is permitted and the wait staff gathers too frequently to get a few puffs in their system, and we were seated, to learn that many of the menu items were not available. Food was too salty, and nothing more than tiny fried shrimp and a mini piece of fish. The wait staff runs and runs, but doesn't really go anywhere (except to the bar to smoke). In short, it was a terrible experience.
