“Beautiful and comfy”
Reviewed 12 July 2014

This was, perhaps, the most beautiful KOA I've stayed in. Wooded on three sides, the freeway in the distance is heard, but the bird sounds in the woods cover it nicely. There is a gorgeous easy hiking loop through the trees and down to a creek, with little off shoots that I did not have time to explore. The sites are big and roomy, and staggered so you're not looking into your neighbor's windows. Ask for a spot out by the trees in the back. It seems a long distance from the pool, but it isn't if you cut straight across. AND they have the Hunk Pizza/wings service too, which is really a great value for dinner if you're lazy like me. The little store is very well stocked for a little store, and the laundry facility is very neat and clean. The pool is old but well cared for, and they have loads of games and stuff for the kiddos, with a fantastic mini-golf game set up that would be fun for families I would think. The office staff is not super friendly, but they are professional. The guy who takes you to your site, however, is friendly and helpful. He told me EXACTLY how to set my tv up, something I have not done in 2 years because I couldn't figure it out, and I stayed up way too late watching it, just because I could. There are a few neat sites with patio table set ups and swings and the such, too.

Room Tip: Ask for one near the forest trails, maybe with a patio table and chairs.

This campground was only going to be an overnight stop for us... but it was so quiet and relaxing our overnight stay turned into 3 nights! The staff are super-friendly and the grounds are well-kept. We had the perfect Big Rig site thanks to Gloria! She understood we had double slides in the back and assured us she had a site to accommodate our rig. We didn't even have to level or jockey our slides around any utility posts! It was a first for us!!! If you are travelling along I-85, this is a great place to stop and get some rest & relaxation for a few days. They have a well-stocked store and even make pizza - so you don't need to leave. And there is plenty to do from mini-golf and the pool to feeding the goats. This KOA is A-OK with us! :)

Room Tip: The Big Rig sites without shade are perfect for those with double-slides in the back.

We had a great time at this place. We stayed at one of the lodges. It was clean, had flat screen TV, bath/shower, kitchenette and two nice bedrooms. We made a short trip to Cowpens for antiquing and went to the Carl Sandburg house in Flat Rocks, NC. There are a lot of things to see that are close by this clean and pretty campground. You don't have to be a camper to enjoy this KOA campground. Anyone with kids can enjoy the three goats the proprietor has. They are a very friendly couple.

We were upgraded to the deluxe lodge. The lodge included a big deck with chairs and umbrella, dishes, TV and couch. It was tastefully decorated and very nice. It looks new.
The campground looked nice with a pool, game room and mini golf. We did not get to take advantage of the amenities as they closed at 7 pm and we were still out exploring the area. We found the wi-fi to be slow.
The campground was very quiet.

Memorial Day weekend was fast approaching, and we had not made any plans to camp for the first time this year. We wanted to stay close to home, so I picked this KOA. We had never been before, and what a wonderful surprise this campground was. A very nice area, level lots, bathouses very clean, nice pool and a dog park for the fur-friends to run and play off leash. This campground is 2 exits away from the Prime Outlets in Gaffney SC- perfect for some retail therapy ! The owners and staff of this KOA were extremely friendly and very helpful. They even lead you to your site, and offer help if you need help setting up. The camp store is well stocked with a variety of items. We needed a wrench and some tape, they had it there ! I-85 is close, but you really cannot hear the insterstate from the campground. We will return in the near future !

This park has gravel roads that lead to gravel and grass sites. Most sites are level and can accomodate large rigs. The park is well treed but there is a section that is clear enough for your satellite and that is usually where they put big class A's. Sprint wifi and 3G work good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Bathroom and showers were spotless, they were the cleanest I have ever seen.
