The fish and crab dishes are much fresher tasting than in the past!! The chef and staff are much improved. the new influx of "older" waitstaff (Yankees) are more accomodating and caring!! Forgot her name but she was Top-dog in our book!

Returning from Charleston, thought we would stop for dinner. We had passed by several times, attracted by the location. Believe me, that's all this place offers! First we inquired whether tonic was bottled or fountain. Advised it was fountain, we risked a couple vodka tonics with the proviso that the bartender squirt the tonic several times before administering. Predictably, the drinks arrived flat. So we ordered substitute wine and martini, but the waitress came back with GOOD NEWS - bartender located a couple bottles tonic. Great, so scratch substitutes and bring us the v-ts. Well, no visible bubbles, and again flat - they've saved a few bucks by bringing us the original drinks. But now we start splitting a shrimp cocktail - small, withered shrimp. Ordered a Caesar salad to split and early bird dinners. Dinners arrived at same time as salad, so it went untouched (but wife sampled it - doused in dressing). Flounder was overcooked. We told waitress something had come up, paid $72 (with tip - waitress was blameless) and drove on to a wonderful $76 dinner at Russell's in Murrells Inlet (martini superb, steak juicy and tasty, generous helping of wine). Fist time I've paid for dinner twice and last visit to Lands End.

Lands End is right off the wide part of two rivers - the setting is what brings us there. The food, in this, its second incarnation, is fair and pricey for what it is,

Decided to stop here for dinner with my mother. The view was so beautiful! However, the food is very expensive and it was not anything but average. I have eaten much better for the same price in Pawleys! I do have to say everyone was so nice! The service was excellent. All that is missing is good food to match the prices! Most likely won't be back anytime soon. Sorry.

We stopped here for lunch on our way from Wilmington, NC to Charleston, SC, at the recommendation of a friend. It's easy to get to--just over the bridge on the left side of southbound U.S. 17. The service was excellent, the view was great (despite the downpour from a passing thunderstorm), and the complimentary hush puppies were excellent--on the small side but lighter than many others we've tried. The chicken tarragon salad was fresh and tasty, as was the fried grouper sandwich. Overall, a great place to stop for a meal...we will be back....
