“Review of Business Sales Manager and Hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2012

I'd like to recognize the outstanding performance of Ms. Rivers, the Business Sales Manager for the Westin Poinsett Hotel. I have used this facility on several occasions times for out of town family guests, as well as for clients in town for business. Ms. Rivers has gone above and beyond assisting my family and/or clients during their stay in the hotel, as well as the front desk staff and on site reservations with last minute changes-updates, which have been a breeze! Of significant note, my father died one year ago and sympathy cards and additional amenities were provided to my out town family members upon check-in, who were in town for the memorial. The hotel is always spotless, the staff ever so curtious, and delicious dining is also available. Be a part of history in this lovely hotel from the 1920s and enjoy all that is has to offer. The Westin Poinsett is a lovely, revitalized property.

Room Tip: Ask for a junior suite upgrade or a view overlooking Main Street!

The hotel was a nice venue for our company Christmas party- I liked how there were different rooms for whatever mood you were feeling that night (1 room there was a DJ and 1 room there was a band).... I also stayed at the Westin that night and it was great! I am going to be booking a room for my wedding night! All the Westin weddings I’ve been to in the past few years has been super nice too.

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Step outside and The Peace Center and The Falls are to your right. Turn left and you have dozens of restaurants and bars to choose from. This was our first weekend getaway to Greenville and wanted to splurge a little. Unfortunately, the rooms don't quite match the grand exterior. At least ours didn't. It was pretty small and basic, besides the large treadmill and yoga ball next to the bed. It was kind of weird at first, but fun I guess? They also put us on the second floor around the corner from the ballroom which was hosting a wedding reception that night. At least the deejay played some good tunes and then we were out most of the evening for dinner and drinks. The bed was indeed heavenly and the two-headed shower was nice, but other than that there was nothing luxurious about it. I so wanted to love this place and was looking forward to our stay the minute I booked, but when the valet forgot that we had given him our ticket and left us waiting I was pretty much ready to leave....

Westin hotels are always great, but this one has a lot of historic charm reminiscent of hotels like the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco.

There are very few downtowns as nice as Greenville. Great stores and restaurants and the weekend farmers' market and street party combine for a phenominal experience.

In the middle of the fun sits the Westin Poinsett, a landmark hotel that has been completely renovated and rejuvenated from a trashed shell only a few years ago.

The rooms are small and basic and you hear everything from the hallway so a room at the end of the hall is your best bet. Beds are very comfortable as is the Westin tradition. The staff are excellent and knowledgeable and very willing to help.

We only ate breakfast at the restaurant as there as many excellent restaurants in the downtown area. The food and service is good but worth about half of what they are charging for it. $35 for a very basic continental breakfast for 2 - forget it.

Overall, the Westin Poinsett is a good choice but you need to heed the advice of fellow travellers to get the best experience.

Use the hotel as a base to get out onto main street and enjoy the best collection of restaurants anywhere.

Room Tip: High floor, street view (except when the street market has police and fire vehicles on display - sir...

The hotel has excellent service and staff. They are very accommodating to my needs and is always patient with me in every stay. The location is great too with a lot of great restaurants surrounding the hotel. The staff are very nice and easy to talk to; they tend to my needs right away and make sure that I always feel comfortable and happy in my stay.

The property itself has been beautifully and historically renovated. The people working there were very friendly but at times seemed understaffed so waiting patiently for everything is the key.Maybe it was because it was Memorial Day weekend, but management should be ready for a holiday weekend. The rooms were nice and fairly spacious. We had a corner room that afforded a great view, but with all the windows we could not get the room that cool on a ninety degree weekend. I have already booked a girls trip in October and am staying at the hotel again. Enjoyed the great location in the middle of everything and a short walk to the falls.
