“Great German food, a little pricey for the casual atmosphere”
Reviewed 9 April 2013

Food was fresh, delicious, and service is great. Tried it with a Living Social coupon, and was very pleased. The veal with the mushroom gravy was tender and flavorful, and so was the red cabbage and potato salad. The apple strudel was a very dense cake with a layer of cinnamon apples and a sweet crumb topping, and not the typical flaky strudel pastry, but it was delicious. This has a casual, almost lunchroom feel, but the service was attentive, the owner checked on us (and all the tables) twice, and it was a good meal.

“Great Staff, Great Reuben, Great Deserts!”
Reviewed 22 March 2013

We tried this restaurant because I had a Living Social coupon. We arrived at 11:45 and found a sign stating that the restaurant was closed to the public between 11:00 – 12:00 because a school group was there for a private party. We waited in the car until 12 and went back in to be told that the group was running late and it would be another 30 minutes. We decided to wait. Once the group left the area was quickly cleaned and we were seated. We ordered a Reuben and it was quickly brought out. I was a little disappointed that no sides came with the sandwich, just a sandwich on a plate. The sandwich was very good, hot and fresh like it should be. We then chose desert and ordered apply strudel. It was delicious! Hot and fresh out of the oven with a small scoop of vanilla ice cream. The crust was slightly crunchy and it smelled heavenly! This desert reminded you of eating in a friend’s kitchen. This restaurant is very clean and the staff is very friendly. We will definitely be back; we will just go a little later next time.

Once you taste the food here, you will be a regular! Service is great and decor is charming. Nice menu with reasonable prices. Be sure to try the apple striffel for dessert. It is to die for!

“My wife and I had a nice dinner”
Reviewed 4 January 2013

Haus Edelweiss is not a fancy restaurant, but it's good German food.
The service was good and everything is fresh and prepared for you. Drinks are reasonable and the house wines are OK.
Get the red cabbage it's wonderful.
The restaurant is a nice, with good food and service.

“Disappointed”
Reviewed 13 December 2012

My husband and I ate here using a Groupon. We were excited because it is nearby and locally owned. We each got an entree that could've been any meat, pounded paper thin and fried. Then it was covered by a gloopy gravy that I imagine came from a jar. The potatoes were gummy. The cabbage, however, was delicious. The dessert left much to be desired as well. We will not be returning.
