“Best onion rings ever!”
Reviewed 29 January 2014

I've been going to the Dixie since the 70s and remember Pete and Perry, the original owners, like it was yesterday. The new owners are not too friendly (at all) so thank goodness Gary is still there. The burgers have long since gone downhill but the 1/2 and 1/2 is worth whatever they're charging these days.Their sodas are the best in town with the crushed ice. That cole slaw is pretty good too. Whenever I'm in town (once a year) I have to have lunch there just to hear the servers call out "Dixie cheese 1/2 and 1/2!"

“Great Food”
Reviewed 15 September 2013 via mobile

I have been going to the Dixie since I was a little girl. My favorite used to be the Dixie chili cheeseburger half and half but now I love the minced BBQ sandwich. They are a little pricey for a hamburger place. They now serve baked potatoes with homemade sour cream but they never give you enough sour cream so you have to buy .50 extra for more. The onion rings are made fresh and they make a cherry coke the old fashion way.

“Just what you would expect”
Reviewed 11 July 2013 via mobile

One of the pleasures of traveling is finding the local eateries, like Dixie. It's been in Greenwood since 1959, I think it qualifies a staple of the community.

It's just what you'd expect. Simple, pretty tasty fast food. There is nothing fancy inside. There are no tables, it's a series of long counters with stools, so the wait staff can move and service everyone easily. I doubt the interior has changed much since it opened.

My burger and fries were good. Definitely beats grabbing something McD, BK, etc.

If you want to grab a quick bite and step back in time, check it out.

“Perfect greasy spoon joint”
Reviewed 8 July 2013

I've been eating here for many years and it's the perfect cheeseburger joint. Quick service and reasonable prices. Belly up to the bar, spin in your chair, and enjoy some delectable burgers and fries. Perfect for a quick stop on your way to the movies or a ball game. Family friendly.
