My husband and I used out timeshare week here for a 3 bedroom unit which we thought we'd be sharing with family members. They unfortunately could not make it so we had the place to ourselves for the first 5 nights. Then had another couple join us for the last 2 nights, which was great.
The accommodations were very comfortable, roomy with a full kitchen, washer & dryer, Jacuzzi tub in the master bedroom. For a 3 bedroom, it was a little different as the 3rd smaller bedroom was actually attached to the master. It had french doors that could be open or closed for separation and if left closed, the master was in complete darkness. We didn't like that so the doors were left open the entire time, which was fine as our friends that came in the end, stayed in the other bedroom which has it's own separate bathroom so, it worked out perfectly. The basic utensils were all there, but no paring knifes which I thought was odd. It's hard to cut vegetables with a steak knife.
Our unit (#236 in building 8) didn't have the best view, basically looking out into a wooded area where you could also see the 3 gas grills with picnic area and had a partial view of the pool/pond area. Not that exciting but it was at least quite and pretty private.
The pool area was very nice with a lot of chairs, tables and a few umbrellas. Definitely kid friendly with the spouting water field and some fun water falls within the pool. The music was not that great, more geared towards the older crowds.. They mostly played 50's - 70's music. As we are in our late 40's early 50's, a few songs were recognizable but most, not so much. Definitely not a place to bring young adults and teens. There were a few couples with small children and they seemed to enjoy the pool.
My husband and I wanted to go play billiards one night in the clubhouse, it was around 8:00 pm. Couldn't get in because it was all closed up.. At 8:00 pm! Needless to say, unless you leave the resort, there's not much to do. The pool closes at 10:00pm though so other than staying in your unit, that was really your only other option at the resort.
The resort is quite and very dark at night. Low lighting for getting around. If you enjoy late night walks, you may want to bring a flashlight.
We did have to call the front desk for a maintenance issue which they took care of right away.

Room Tip: If you want a lot of light in your room, I suggest getting an end unit.

This was a really nice resort. We had a 2 bedroom overlooking the pool in building 6. We were on the top floor with a screened in deck. That was really nice to just sit out with drinks at night or sit and have coffee in the moring and not have to worry about fighting bugs. Plus, everyone is right, no bugs in condo.
The pool was nice each day. Free wi-fi and free long distance phone calls were a wonderful plus!
The only complaints are that I wish there was more to do on site or even a restaurant on site. Also, the grounds people were out really early in the monring and were too noisy.

We've vacationed in HHI, specifically Port Royal Plantation for about 8 years now and this was our first visit to Island Links. 8/28-9/4. We LOVED this resort. It was relaxing and peaceful for the adults with the landscape and amenities and then fully enjoyable for the kids with fantastic pools and activities available. (and I was tickled to be able to get my frozen adult beverages at the "sandbar" tiki bar set up poolside!) The units were very clean and spacious. Although the beach was a long walk/bike ride/short drive to the end of the road, we didn't care or mind at all (and we're used to beachfront). They offer a free shuttle and beach access is available through Westin. We could use Westin's outside pools and fitness center. During the week we could also park in the Westin lot to access to access the beach. On Thurs-Sun, we could either use the shuttle or we just opted to drive over to Islanders Beach parking lot/access and use the metered spaces there. We own a global discovery vacation club membership and this was the least expensive MOST enjoyable vacation we've had since our honeymoon.

Island links is amazing! It is a great family vacation spot. The customer service of the front desk was wonderful. The pool is great for kids. It has a zero depth entry, with mushrooms and other various water things that shoot up in the air. The pool is big and there is a second pool by the bar. In the club house, they have a ton of activities for kids. There is no reason for a child to be bored on this trip.

The condo's themselves were amazing. We stayed in a two bedroom condo and had nothing to complain about. We are truly happy with our stay and would come back again any time!

We had a great vacation while staying at Island Links. The accommodations are spacious and well kept, with many creature comforts. Grills are available outside for bbqing. The pool area was large with separate pools for kids and adults. No pool towels available, so remember your beach towels. Easy availability to Westin's beach access by taking shuttle. Worst part of vacation was people in rooms above ours that were excessively loud. The front desk did attempt to remedy with little compliance from other guests. Overall a great vacation, although I would recommend a top floor and also that you don't go in the heat of the summer. It averaged 105 degrees every day we were there!
