“Beautiful campground”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

It is one of the most Beautiful campgrounds we have ever stayed at, butThe only negative was the entrance getting in or out of the resort. It is not Big Rig friendly. It has turns and a big island at the entrance and hard to get in and out. Once in, the roads are wide and sites very nice. Loved it here. A little pricey.

Very nice resort.Bathrooms were clean.Pools were nice.Very well maintained resort.Staff was friendly, helpful. The only negative was the entrance getting in or out of the resort, definitely needs a traffic light. But I'm sure that is a state issue and has nothing to do with the resort. We would definitely come back.

We were planning a trip to the Hilton Head / Savannah area, and the first two RV parks we tried couldn't accommodate us, and boy we are glad. This location ended up being incredibly convenient and a wonderful spot to stay overall. We stayed for three nights and will definitely be back. Waterfront sites are $69/night and interior sites are $59/night. If you stay four nights or more, you receive a $5/night discount.

RV SITES
There are 200 sites in total, and every one is first come, first serve (you can't reserve a specific site). There are 13 pads on the water, and each one of these has a sitting area and dock, but you are not able to use the dock (there is a marina that is adjacent to the park). I can honestly say that I didn't see a bad site in the park. The concrete pads are huge (minimum 55' in length), many are double width, and almost every one has a patio table/chair set or picnic table. Each site is landscaped and has very nice shade. Every site can be 30 or 50 amp, and has full electricity, water and cable (we had over 60 channels).

AMENITIES
There are five wi-fi hotspots on the property. We were in site 112, and had no issues with the signal. The sites closest to wi-fi are 111-118, 155-158, 141-145, 94-99, 190-195 and 1-5.

There are two swimming pools, a hot tub, playground and horseshoe pits. We used the pool on the pier and there were rarely any other people there. There are bathrooms and showers available. The pool was open 24 hours.

The laundry room has four washers and dryers and take both quarters or credit cards. It costs $1.25 per wash cycle (about 30 minutes) and per dry cycle (45 minutes). It was open 24 hours.

There is a five star restaurant on site, Sunset Grille but we did not eat there. Others told us the food was very good. Menu prices for entrees averaged $30, and they are closed on Mondays. They require reservations, but dress is casual. To contact them, you can email at sunsetgrille@hotmail.com, or call 843-689-6744.

You can charter boat / fishing tours (www.liveoac.com, 888-254-8362) as well as rent jet skis and kayaks (www.jetskionhiltonhead.com, 843-842-4754) at the docks along the intracoastal waterway within the park. Jet ski rentals cost $115 per hour for one person, and an additional $105 for another person. Some RVers brought their own and used the public ramp about one mile away.

NEARBY
We loved the convenience of this park. Savannah was an easy 45 minute trip on back roads. The beach was 10-15 minutes away. Tanger outlets were 5 minutes away. There are several grocery stores, convenience stores, restaurants, shops, etc all within very short distances.

OVERALL
The park was incredibly quiet and relaxing. Pets are allowed on leashes and the staff and guests are very friendly. We loved this RV park and if the weather hadn't gone bad, we would have stayed longer.

Room Tip: Sites 53-65 are waterfront.

We celebrated our 30th anniversary on May 12 and couldn't ask for a better location than Hilton Head RV Resort. Sites are beautiful and every one is a little differently landscaped or decorated. You get to pick out your site beforehand by riding through on a golf cart. There is not a bad site on this property in my opinion with so many to choose from. We chose one by the harbor which always had a beautiful view of the water and sunset. We didn't get to eat at the Sunset Grill, but heard many great things from other campers. Pool area was very nice and clean. The entire resort was always clean and very quiet. Staff upon check-in was very friendly.

Room Tip: Harbor view recommended.

I was a little wary about having to wait until we arrived to pick a site, but we were pleasantly surprised at how much fun we had riding in the golf cart to pick the spot that was right for us. We really liked everything. We played some tennis, swam in the closer one of two clean pools, shot basketball, and relaxed in this beautiful and quiet RV park. There is a small work out room if you need more exercise while on the island. There is a small fishing pier next to the property and it's fun to watch the dolphins swim by from there. The staff here are very pleasant and friendly. We would like to stay here again next time.

Room Tip: Avoid sites with many trees in early spring

From checking in to eating at their on site restaurant it was perfect. Friendly, clean and close to the bike trails of Hilton Head. Next time we come back we will stay longer. The only cons are (and I didn't dock them a star for it) gnats and turning left getting out of the park. Gnats... Once you know how to deal with them it's fine. As the girl said at the desk hon you are in the south now. Turning left to get on the main highway on Hilton Head is a nightmare. Like my husband said they need a light (not necessarily right there) some where on both sides of the traffic to at least give a break in the traffic.
Not the parks fault just a nuisance. But it won't deter us to come back. The lots have plenty of space and we took a golf cart to pick one out ourselves. A first for us. Great wifi. We ate at the restaurant Sunset Grille twice. That's how great it was. Can't wait to come back.

We really enjoyed our week there in our Air Stream. All sites are paved or bricked. Full hookup which included wifi which was nice. The rental was a little high but worth the money. Staff was very help. This is camping with class. We were lucky enough to get a harbor view sight with a deck. It was neat. We hope to return again!!
