Pleasant surroundings, excellent service and great food! We had the saffron risotto with shrimp and artichokes, and the shrimp and scallops on angel hair pasta, both specials of the evening. We were seated in the "wine room," a quiet, small room separated by glass from the main dining area. Every attendant -- waitress, server (the chef's son, as we found out), busboy -- inquired about how things were going and how the food was. Glasses were refilled, silverware replaced as needed, etc. The food was delicious -- hot and flavorful. A great experience.

What an amazing meal. There was 8 of us at dinner and most of that dinner was either silence or people sharing the food. The brie appetizer was the best I have ever had. OMG!!! Most of us ordered specials and none of us were disappointed. We were still talking about our meal the next day.

Karen:
Thank you so much for your comments and support. I'm glad you liked the brie, that's one of my favorite's. The chef has been on a role with his specials. The pork shank has been extremely popular.

This was my husbands favorite Italian restaurant. Pasta is homemade. Chicken parm was so tender. My fettuccine Alfredo was just the perfect richness. And my daughter had the filet mignon appetizer as the main course. Very fresh and both kalamari and tomato mozzarella were to die for! Definitely go. You will not be disappointed.

We had been on the Island for 5 days and were tired of seafood and wanted a change. From the minute we walked through the door the service was top notch. The hostess seated us in a quiet section as per our request. The waitress as well as the assistants were there to take care of everything before we could think to ask for anything. The owner introduced herself and I had to compliment her for the fact that she was spotted earlier cleaning their liquor bottles. Food and wine were superb. Homemade bread and hummus are out of this world. Will definitely return soon!

How it got to be the 5th best restaurant in Hilton Head is beyond me. The service was nice and friendly and the wine was nice but the food? Not so much. Especially when you consider the price. The best thing we ordered was the caprese salad...and that should tell you something. We shared the ravioli spinaci as a second appetizer - the "homemade" ravs tasted like it was whole wheat instead of homemade, the filling was dry and sauce too oily. (And served with canned artichokes) My husband ordered the bolognese and while the homemade noodles had good flavor the sauce itself was extremely bland. Likewise with my seafood risotto (which was a special) where the only salt came from the chorizo and the mussels. Otherwise the rest of the seafood and risotto completely lacked flavor, was very bland - even with a generous helping of Parmesan cheese. It seriously tasted like they didn't cook with salt - at all. Needless to say we skipped dessert. If you want really great italian on hilton head - go to Pomodori. It's much more authentic and flavorful.
