We were told to visit this awesome fort by a local. Upon entering the driveway there is very little signage. We followed a sign for parking and ended up at a small wooden walking path bridge. We finally assumed that we had driven too far and reversed back to the parking sign. There were no parking spots or clear areas to park.
Someone in our party jumped out of the car to explore the grounds to see if we missed a sign with directions. Turns out the fort is a earthen fort. There are no built walls, cannons, cellars, or lookouts. The bridge we had driven to turned out to be the access entrance to the earthen fort. This was the only indication to tell us that we were at the fort, otherwise you are just standing in the middle of the woods.
It was very disappointing and lacked appeal to both adults and kids. We would not recommend this fort.
