From the moment we walked into the charming side patio to the last delicious bite of creme brûlée, 843 reminded us why it's one of our most favorite spots. The welcome is always warm and authentic. I love Hilton Head and visiting my family here but I've always found the food scene a bit flat. 843 is one of the new restaurants here that is redefining the food landscape. We sat at the bar and Samantha took great care of us. We started with the grilled prawns which were perfectly cooked and served on an earthy bed of sautéed onions, wild mushrooms and fresh beans. Next up, the roasted artichokes which were wonderful. The combination of artichokes and sweet grape tomatoes bursting with flavor were balanced perfectly with salty olives, all served with grilled bread. I can't wait to have this again. We enjoyed a crisp, minerally rose with dinner, a perfect compliment to the rich pesto cream on the gnocchi. The meal ended with an orange and lavender creme brûlée. From the first crack of the golden brown crust to the last velvety bite of custard, the subtle flavors made this a quick favorite. Jason and the staff at 843 provide a special evening in a casual and easy atmosphere. I can't wait for my next visit! Please keep doing what you're doing, it's working!!!!
