Brought the kids along and stayed in a Village condo for 4 nights while attending a conference in Charleston. The increased recreational opportunities for kids and lower cost (relative to downtown Charleston) were a great tradeoff for the extra commute time. Staff was always helpful and polite. The beach was gorgeous & clean. Had pools essentially to ourselves much of the week. Thought the dining options on resort were a bit spendy, but we were coming & going a lot anyway, so found other places to our liking.

We had a great time and the accommodations were top notch. Even though the height of the season is over down there we found plenty to do on or off the resort. The beach was a five minute walk down the boardwalk. All the pools ( the 5 we saw) we very clean and properly maintained.

Room Tip: Not on the ocean side less expensive. We had a king suite with a pull out sofa. This room had a full...

Only 1/2 hour North of Charleston What a wonderful place to visit off season. (Must be crazy busy in the summer) Nice accommodations and beautiful beach. Nice walking trails and a beautiful golf course with holes along the water. You could get everything you needed at the on site market including take out meals.

While I was slightly nervous renting these units after reading some reviews, we were very pleasantly surprised to find that our unit was clean, updated and more than adequate! It is considered a "deluxe" rental and since it was on the 3rd floor, there was little noise, beds were very comfy and everything was perfect. The buildings were in excellent shape and had definitely been recently painted, and were otherwise well maintained, landscaped etc. The groceries that I had pre-ordered to be waiting were not there, but they were very apologetic and simply took them off of our bill. Golf course was so nice and staff was very friendly. Thought that charging for bingo was a tad cheesy, but other than that, it was a great vacation!

Room Tip: Look carefully at each unit...our unit #303 was very nice, clean & quiet.

This place completely exceeded our expectations. The condo was beautiful, elegant, roomy, and very well appointed. The staff made sure we had everything we could possibly need. Requests were met in a timely and friendly manner. They really go above and beyond to accommodate you. The beach was a short and very pleasant walk from our condo. Our stay was short so we didn't get to take advantage of all the amenities, but what we did experience was top notch. I can't wait to go back and spend more time at Wild Dunes. I would like to stay here every time we visit the Charleston area. It's a reasonable distance from downtown Charleston. The drive is just beautiful and probably takes around 25 minutes. I highly recommend Wild Dunes for a lovely beach vacation, especially for families or groups.

Room Tip: We had a group of friends and stayed in the Village condos. Very nice!

We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn at The Wild Dunes Resort in September and could not have had a better experience. From the moment the car valet met us the staff could not have been more helpful. I guess Southern charm still exists. The only problem was with the love bugs by the ocean pool but with two other pools available we could not complain. Our room was great and we really had no complaints. I require accessible accommodations and the hotel and grounds are very accessible including the pools. If we ever go back to Isle of Palms we know where we will stay.

Went to the Wild Dunes for a friends wedding. We stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. Truely a beautiful retreat. Located right on the ocean it was the perfect backdrop for a wedding. The room was very nicely decorated and comfortable. There were 4 pools with two of them having an ocean view. Drinks and food served poolside. Staff was very attentive.

Room Tip: Best to chose a room not overlooking the pools for less noise, we did.
