“A Chilly Thanksgiving but Warm Hospitality!!”
Reviewed 20 December 2013

We amounted to 4 families renting a house on the beach. It was a little chilly over Thanksgiving but found the house perfect for our needs! There is nothing like an ocean view when it is cold and rainy outside. The house initially had a few issues when we arrived but the management team immediately fixed them and we were able to celebrate our family reunion. There is so much to do in the area and in the Wild Dunes Resort. We enjoyed their fitness and spa centers. I definitely recommend pampering yourself with a massage or a facial. If I lived in the area, I would go the spa center for massages.
All the while, we felt very safe as we went for walks and runs on the beach on roads. I would definitely go there again. I don't know what the area is like during the summer and warmer seasons but there is a lot to do in the "off season" as well. Thank you Wild Dunes!!

Room Tip: There are a variety of things to do indoors and outdoors. We were mindful to bring umbrellas and sm...

We visited the resort for my company Christmas party and chose to stay overnight due to an affordable rate (and to stay safe after consuming alcohol). The room was beautiful, though the view could have used some work! All we could see was a parking lot and the side of another building. Comfortable beds, good quality toiletries provided, helpful staff. The hall the party was held in (Sweetgrass Pavilion, Tides Ballroom) was nice, the service at the event was efficient. Definitely enjoyed the experience. If we have another party there, we will be sure to stay again!

We were two couples sharing a two bedroom condo. The condo is for sale for $379,000, a good portion of the price being due to its Wild Dunes location. We were right next to the Links Golf Course clubhouse and practice facility, which was perfect. Beach access was close enough and the beach, itself, was very nice (empty in December, but nice for walking). My only problem with the condo was the lack of lighting in the living room; there was one lamp. We had minor operational problems (cable tv box in living room didn't work and apartment keys stopped working a day early), but management fixed them promptly. We liked the proximity to Charleston and to the restaurants on Sullivan's Island and Mt. Pleasant. For the price ($135 per night + resort fees + taxes), you could not ask for anything better. Oh, yeah, my wife loved the mattress.

We attended a family wedding on Dec. 6 - the weather was a perfect 75 degrees! We stayed in a house (Ocean Point 43) and thought it was great! Location was wonderful with a view of the ocean and golf course. The house had everything we needed. I would love to go back and take more of my family with me :)

Dear Cathy,

What a delight to read! I’m so glad your family member’s wedding brought you to Wild Dunes Resort for a visit! It sounds like you got to experience what we like to call winter in the South – sunny skies and warm temperatures. It’s wonderful to hear that you had everything you needed and that your accommodations and amenities were most pleasing. Thank you for sharing such wonderful highlights from your stay at Wild Dunes Resort. On behalf of everyone at the Resort, we hope you visit again soon, with more of your family in tow! Take care!

My traveling companion had been to Wild Dunes for a business conference ten years ago and remembered that it was located either on or very near the beach. She wanted a condo where we could take a morning walk and collect sea shells. I called a reservations line and spoke to a knowledgeable young lady who was very helpful. She told me there are a couple levels of their condo accommodations and sent a short list of the "deluxe" units that were situated where we wished to be. She even reviewed the listings and made a recommendation as to which of the units she thought we would like. Turns out we liked one and booked it. It was a first floor unit that was indeed right on the beach. Much closer and the waves would have been coming in the door! They took a deposit over the phone (we were within the non-refundable period as it was a short notice reservation) and sent the paperwork via email. A couple days before our arrival date, I was contacted via phone by a concierge at the resort. We discussed activities, features, dining options, bike and kayak rentals, etc. all of which were available at the resort. As it turned out, we were so busy doing things related to the Civil War history (Fort Sumter, toured a plantation, The Gibbes Museum of Art, The Charles Pickney Historical Site, etc.) and eating that we didn't rent bikes or kayaks. We did walk the beach, however, and came home with a nice collection of shells. You should know that the Isle of Palms is a 25-30 minute from Charleston. If you're okay with that, this is a great place to stay. Peaceful, a good location from which to tour, and many condos to choose from. No doubt we'll go back.

Room Tip: If you want to have a beach front condo, GET ONE. Why look at the beach from the distance when you...

Checked in 12/2/13, technically 12/3/13 (3:30am). Upon arrival some pre-arrangements I had made were not as I had planned. The staff were sincerely apologetic and went above and beyond to make things perfect for our stay. 5 stars and beyond for this property and their staff. All staff greeted me by name and were genuinely friendly. I do not leave until Friday and I cannot wait to return. A special thank-you to Mike and Stephen for making our stay perfect.

My husband and I stayed at the Wild Dunes Resort the first weekend in November, 2013. Beautiful quaint little island. Our suite was beautiful and clean with all the amenities you could ask for. It also had a huge kitchen! Is was a little on the chilly side but we rented some bikes by the resort and rode all over the east part of the island for a few hours. Very relaxing. We had a beautiful view of the ocean from our room as well. Dunes Deli is a great little place to grab an easy inexpensive breakfast, yummy. Great getaway vacation spot.
