Wild Dunes is exceptional vacationing. Whether you choose to stay in the lovely condiminiums that line the prestine beaches, stay in the hotels on site or visit the spa and other lovely amenities your stay will be a memorable one.
I enjoyed my time in the condos there and found the entire island to be completely luxurious and relaxing.
If you choose to get away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Charleston, Wild Dunes should be your destination.

One of our family's favorite vacation spots. We usually go at least once a year. We have stayed at the Boardwalk Inn, in houses, and condos. All are usually excellent. On our latest trip we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. It was excellent as usual. The room was very clean, spacious, and looked/felt like a high end hotel. With our stay we got a $25 breakfast credit. Breakfast was incredible every morning (especially the French toast with nutella and bananas).

Great beach access. Beaches are never crowded and has nice pools as well. Because it is a resort is it great for bike riding and looking at houses. Good golf, lots of tennis courts, and a basketball court. Although we don't eat there much it is always good and it is close to great restaurants on Isle of Palms, Sullivans, and Mount Pleasant.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on an upper level floor because there is a lot of foot traffic through the hotel and...

My husband and I went to Wild Dunes as a destination for our babymoon. It offered R & R and was close enough to Charleston to sightsee.
The adult pool was a necessity as this is a very family vacation place...which is wonderful if you have children. The staff was always very willing to assist with your stay to ensure it is as comfortable as can be. Andrew, who worked the restaurant was superb. However, although Andrew was speedy, most of the service was on island time.
The food at the hotel was mediocre, but I didn't have high expectations for a large family-style resort.
Overall, we had a very relaxing time and enjoyed our stay.

The boardwalk inn is a very good choice for a family vacation. My wife and I were recently attending a wedding in Charelston, and we brought our two adult children and their significant others for a total of six people. The boarwalk inn was reasonably priced which is quite a benefit when renting multiple rooms. There is an adult pool right next to the hotel and two kids pools . The beach is a short walk across a boardwalk, and beach chairs can be rented there. There are two exercise facilities about a five minute walk in two plazas across from the hotel which were adequate but a bit worn. I would recommend the boardwalk inn more so for a family than just a couple.

Disappointed with this resort. We chose it for our family vacation. Upon arrival from our 11 hour drive we checked in and the wrong room was assigned to us; mind you we reserved in January. After settling in we realized a couple room defects which were tried to be covered up quickly. A call to office and they were fixed, but a hassle we did not want to deal with.

They were good with comping some parts and gave us a wild dunes credit card to be spent on the resort, but after a while I souls have been happier if they just got it right instead of apologizing and giving us credit.

Beach chairs not set up consistently (this is an extra cost).

There are some positives, the cove pool, parking and beach is near, but too many flaws and too costly to want to go back

We had a spectacular time at the Wild Dunes resort. The entire hotel staff from top to bottom was absolutely outstanding. All were friendly, courteous and constantly trying to find ways to make our stay even more enjoyable. There are numerous activities for families and children of all ages. We were in one of the penthouses and had 10 people. Rooms were large and well appointed. There was wifi and cable TV. There was plenty of room with a well stocked kitchen and we ate a significant number of meals in. We found pricing comparable to renting a house on the beach but thought this a much better option with the significant amount of amenities. The five pools all cater to different groups from adult to toddler. The beach is a short walk and umbrella's and beach chairs are available for rent. The kids also rented paddle boards. There are parachute rides and jet ski's available near the resort at the marina for rent as well.
The golf courses are excellent. The bay course has significant water and is really for the more advanced player. The dunes course is equally as beautiful, a little more forgiving and has ocean view holes for the finish. We enjoyed both biking and walking the trails along the main road...even saw some of the local alligators in the lagoon next door. Highly recommend it for families and for a relaxing vacation for adults as well.

Room Tip: Even the marsh side views are nice. The road in front of the hotel can be fairly busy so higher up i...
