“Family vacation destination!”

We just returned from a week stay at Wild Dunes. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. We stayed in the Village (a 2 bedroom suite). Size was more than ample for a family of 4. It really was like a small condo, only there was cleaning service every day. Location was great - we could hear live music from the pool and/or from the restaurant downstairs from our balcony each night. Sullivan's Island is a quick ride from the resort and we enjoyed 2 meals there - one at Sullivans and the other at Poe's Tavern. We also enjoyed a nice meal at Morgan Creek Grill in the Marina. We had a wonderful trip, but my major issue with the resort was with the pools. While there are 5 of them, the size of each is quite small. Given the size of the resort, they should be much larger.

Room Tip: While there was a short walk to the beach from the Village, the location was perfect for enjoying th...

We stayed in a one-room with two queen beds.the only problem we encountered was some spotty wi-fi and we found the room to run a little hot. loved the fire pit and smores kits and the teens enjoyed being able to explore the property independently.

Room Tip: Save up and splurge on a suite. The suites are huge and well-laid out with modern kitchens that can...

Our family decided to take our summer vacation in South Carolina. We decided upon Charleston, but we are more of a 'beach family'. We picked Wild Dunes Resort in the Isle of Palms because of its 'family' atmosphere and proximity to Charleston. The resort exceeded our expectations! It is a little expensive, but you get what you pay for in this case :) The staff and accommodations were wonderful and we had a great first time experience. We definitely would revisit the Charleston area. We were able to drive into town easily and there is so much to do both on the resort and in town. THE WEEK FLEW BY !!! Also, the beach/dune was great in front of the resort, not packed with people, soft sand, level sloping (no drop offs)....the kids were in the ocean A LOT and it was nice to be able to just sit and relax while watching them have fun in the water !

Room Tip: We absolutely loved our Ocean View room

We stayed at the Beach Club Villas July 13 - 20. The view from the Villa was awesome. The Unit was very dated. The bathtub in the first floor bedroom was not usable. It constantly running/leaking. We called 4 times and it never got fixed. The Master bathroom had mold on the ceiling! One on the towel fixtures was broken. They never cleaned the screen porch before we checked in. There was trash on the floor and very dirty. For almost $5,000.00 with tax and resort fees it was disappointing! You can't hold yourself out as a high end resort and have you guests staying in units like that!

Our accommodations were clean, beautiful, and relaxing for a 5-person group. The price was expensive but I've paid the same in Hawaii for less amenities. We had a suite with a kitchen which worked great with 2 teenagers and a 20 year old; and for making lunches as we toured the Charleston area sites. The corner suite was very quiet with balcony for relaxing and reading and views of the ocean (only a side view but fine for us) and surrounding areas. The Village had places to buy food and clothes if you left anything at home. We spent most of our time driving around Charleston so didn't partake of the golfing/tennis/gym amenities. Pools were crowded but clean. Resort amenities seem to be aiming for younger families or older duffers. We had a grand time and our teenagers made their own fun.

Room Tip: You can book a regular hotel room or go with a suite at the Village. Our's was a corner suite w...

We had another great experience at Wild Dunes. The staff was helpful and attentive. Ross at the Pavillion was a stand out! We have come to Wild Dunes for years and it just keeps getting better. Looking forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: The two bedroom family suites have a good view of the ocean, especially on the higher floors.

This was our third and last annual conference and all in attendance noticed that a different attitude is at work at Wild Dunes. The corporate bottom line has become more important than the guest experience. The conference sales staff is relentless with their phone calls and "we are here to help". Housekeeping was not on a schedule if they show at all.

Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head Island will be our destination points from now on.

Adios Wild Dunes
